I visited the Stones River Medical Group for the first time in March. I had a terrible sore throat and was worried that it was strep.
Stones River offers drop-in care, so that's why I selected their facility. Dr. Dooley was my physician. I waited about 30 minutes in the waiting room and another 10 in the consulting room. Dr. Dooley came in, barely made eye contact, and asked a few questions about my symptoms. He looked in my throat, nodded, said "We'll fix you right up," and left the room. I wasn't sure if I was done, but he didn't return, so I waited about ten minutes and stuck my head out of the door. A nurse walking by said she'd get my prescriptions from the doctor.
Unfortunately, none of the paperwork I filled out asked if I was breastfeeding, and I didn't think to make a specific mention of it. I had my baby with me, so the doctor knew I was a new mom. When I had my prescriptions filled, it occurred to me to ask if I could take the medication and breastfeed. The answer (to all three meds) was no.
Dr. Dooley should have asked me that basic question. His time with me was way too brief and perfunctory. I won't be returning to him.
