My wife and I and a group of friends had planned on celebrating New Years Eve in Nevada City, A wonderful town in the Sierra foothills.I made a reservation at Stonehouse for 10 at 8:30pm. We planned on meeting another group of friends at a local pub called Coopers Ale House, an oustanding establishment, but thats for another review.\r
Stonehouse had a ""set"" holiday menu this evening offering either Steak, pasta, salmon or *ack of lamb.\r
We ordered our dinner at 8:40 and didn't see the main couse until approximately 10:45 PM!! It was almost 11:35 pm after paying for this horrible meal. I told the owner that I hadn't intended to celebrate the new year in the restaurant. \r
Everyone who had the steak was unhappy as it was WAY overcooked. The people who had lamb, my wife in particular, got a meal that was almost raw. Two had the salmon and said is was completely dry.\r
The service was almost non-existent. It was as if the whole kitchen staff was on strike!\r
I don't know what this restaurant is like on other evenings, but stay away if they are busy because thay just can't handle it. They had only 4 items on the menu!! I mean, come on!!!\r
I for one won't be back.
Pros: Nice building
Cons: lousy service, I can cook better. Can't deal with a full house. Poorly staffed.
