I as an artist wanted something special for the engagement ring I would eventually be buying. Having come up with an incredible design I searched around for an artisan before settling on Ron with Stonehaven. I went in and discussed my ideas with Ron and was assured that he had fully grasped my concept. When I went in to review the wax model I was extremely excited that Stonehaven had indeed brought my concept into something tangible. A few short weeks later I had the finished product delivered earlier than I had expected. In January of 2009, I met with Ron Lodholz for the first time with an interest in his ideas for an engagement ring for my then-girlfriend. Four months after literally doodling an idea on a piece of paper, I presented the finished product to my now-fiancee. I am not exaggerating when I tell you my fiancee looks at her ring every single day because it really is an inspired work of beauty. Since then, we have worked with Ron on creating both our wedding bands, bridesmaids necklaces, and also a necklace for my bride (hopefully she doesn't read this before the wedding). Ron and his staff were amazing. Ron, owner, sat down with me several times to explain the many intricacies in making one the most important purchases of my life, an engagement ring. My fiance literally cannot stop looking at the ring and neither can her friends and co-workers. Ron's one of a kind custom platinum setting is unlike anything they have seen. I had a fantastic experience with Ron at Stonehaven. I came in to his store with a price range and a picture to give him an idea of what I wanted. We discussed different aspects of the design, he made some sketches, and the final product exceeded my expectations! It is also worth mentioning that although Stonehaven looks like a very high-end (expensive) retailer, I did quite of bit of comparison shopping and their prices were great. The owner of Stonehaven, Ron, is outstanding. The shop is very welcoming and each employee is very knowledgeable and friendly. They have a great selection that ranges from Ron's own creations and also jewelery made by artists across the US. They have a piece for every price range. I have never taken the time to write a review like this, but I am absolutely compelled to do it for Ron at Stonehaven. A few months ago I decided I was going to propose to the love of my life (awww sweet ain't it?). I like to draw and design things so I came up with a unique ring design and showed it to several jewelery designers all over the triangle. Out of all of the designers I spoke with, Ron at Stonehaven was the only one who really took the time to find out what the design was all about, what I was trying to communicate, and why each element was important. Most other guys quickly glanced at my design and said, ""Yah - I think we can do something like that. Now let's look at some diamonds."" Ron, did some quick sketchwork over-top of my design to roughly communicate his ideas for improving it (so that it met my requirements even better) and I felt like I had found someone with a real passion for what he does. My wife has a ring and bangle bracelet that Ron at Stonehaven designed. The ring is a concave facet yellow beryl with diamonds. The bangle bracelet is flush set with diamonds. We also have a cut Ametrine stone that I?m confident that he will create a stunning necklace from. Also, Ron is very easy to work with.
