Steward's Pet Resort

While the staff handles the pets with affection, I still noticed that our pooch loses weight when he stays here and sometimes comes back with scratches and sores (from the kennel enclosures?)... We will continue to use them, but continuing to monitor the cost vs service level. more

Stewards Best Friends Kennel is Thunders favorite home away from home. Everybody - Dea, Jessica and all the rest of the staff take such wonderful care of Thunder. We have to spell the Kennel's name in front of him, because he gets sooo excited and runs to the garagedoor, if we say the name. No matter if he is there for 2 days or 2 weeks, he comes back very happy and looking good; which could be a challenge with a Chow. Thank you, everyone! more

My Husband and I have been taking our children to "Camp" every time that we are out of town. We never have to worry about them because we know that Jessica, Dee and the rest of the staff are taking very good care of our Babies. I say Babies because we used to have two children. When Kumba passed away, Jessica and the staff sent us the nicest condolance card. They even send us pictures to show us the kids during play time!! Maya has asthma, I showed Jessica how to administer her medication with her adimizer and Maya is always in great condition when we pick her up. I have recommended Best Friends to all of our friends with pets and will continue to do so. I Thank You all so much for loving my baby as much as we do. Sincerely, Annie Hahn more

My dog loves the staff and the grounds at this kennel. She has plenty of room to exercise and gets a lot of love. The cat boarding area is fabulous for my two cats also. Every cat room has a private window for viewing the yard and the birds! One of my cats thinks she is a bird, so it's perfect :) more

We recently moved to the area from the West Coast and were trying to locate a competent groomer. Two recommendations directed us to Best Friends. After two visits to Best Friends, I will never return. The first visit was to bathe my dogs and have their nails trimmed. I specifically mentioned to the groomer that the Poodle was licking the back of the Lab generating a hot spot. When I went to pick up the dogs I found them crated together w/the Poodle licking and aggravating the hot spot. Second visit was to have the poodle groomed. Obviously, the groomer had no experience in grooming Poodles. He was cut unevenly, hair in ears not trimmed, ears not cleaned. He looked so bad that I contacted another groomer and brought him over for an evaluation -- the consensus was that whoever cut him was either totally incompetent or he was was groomed by someone learning the trade w/out adequate supervision. I should have learned after my first experience. more

This is the only kennel where I will leave my dogs. It's out of the way for me, but I make the extra trip. The grounds are ample for exercise. The inside is clean, with enough space for each animal. The staff obviously care for and love animals. My dogs seem to tolerate the stay very well. more
