This is like stepping back in time. Steve's does not have the glamour of the big dogs, but you feel as though they care about you and you are not just a number. They have a lunch counter in the back, something that you would find in an old movie, or a dobie gillis episode. Steve's is a Tulsa landmark. As one of the younger generation, I really enjoy going to Steve's. The selection consists most of books with a regional interest with many authors having book signings there. The stock of regular books isn't all that big but they are chosen with care. Most of the books that I find in there I am almost guaranteed to like. Unlike the other bookstores that sell everything under the sun, the owners of this store really think about the books they order as well as the quality of the writing. If I am looking for a particular book they are always more than willing to order it. They have an incredible selection of magaiznes as well as an old fashioned soda counter in the back. Ask for the egg salad sandwich, you can't beat it. I enjoy the family atmosphere of Steve's and will gladly pay full price to keep this store in business. more

Steve's is the place the makes you want to pay full price so a place like this can stay in business. A true blast from the past. Celebrating over 50 years in business. The largest selection of magazines in Tulsa. Over 50,000 titles in stock with lots of local interest and frequently featuring book signings. Is this a trendy bookstore with the little coffee bar? NO! Steve's has an old-fashioned soda fountains that serves up sandwiches and fountain drinks. Conveniently located in mid-town Tulsa, off the Harvard exit of the Broken Arrow Expressway. A lot of people who grew up in Tulsa remember when Steve's Sundry was THE bookstore. But being part of the younger generation... I'm not very impressed. Their selection is poor, the store is dimly lit, and while it's clean, it needs to be updated so badly that it looks dirty. Still, the place has some nostalgia for older Tulsans. But when I'm looking for a particular book, there are bigger (and cheaper) bookstores in town wiht a better selection. Then again, shopping here will support one of the last locally owned bookstores in Tulsa. I'll browse thru their selection, but I rarely find what I'm looking for. more
