Steve's Meat Market

We had a hog processed here at steves (costly) .Sausage was not good at all no sausage season was used we ask for it . The meat was not processed like we ask. staff at steves not frendly or helpful. First and last time i will go to steves. Words of advise use a market that dont sell over the counter you will get more meat back and done the way you like it. more

There is just something about buying from a market who makes an effort to process and sell locally raised meat. So often I see farmers in the market dropping off hogs, goats, lambs and cattle. Our family has been shopping at Steve's for over 3 years now and are thrilled. It's so much better than going through the mega grocers and the assembly line attitude for customer service. If you are serious about buying local as opposed to mass produced food, I suggest you get to know the folks at Steve's. more

We have been going to Steve's Meat Market for the past 8 years. In that amount of time we have never had a complaint about anything. They are always willing to help and give the best prices in town. Guy and his crew are the best! We don't even buy meat from the grocery stores anymore. Pros: friendly, reasonable prices more

We get pastured beef from a local rancher who happens to use Steve's as their butcher. The beef is awesome, but Steve's meat market leaves something to be desired. Every time I call to arrange details with our order they act as if they are too busy to talk and I'm annoying them. They don't include the bones and organ meats that are supposed to come with the order unless I demand them when I pick up the meat, and then they act as if I'm imposing on them. The meat itself looks like it's been hacked up with a chain saw. I know it all cooks the same, but it's not very appetizing to look at. On the other hand, the ground beef we got is the best I've ever had--it's not too fatty & not too dry and has a nice texture--but that could be due to the cow and not the butcher. Steve's seem to have good variety to choose from and decent prices, but they are not the most pleasant people to do business with.
