Steve's Auto Care was recommended by a friend and I have been using their service for about 2 years. They do oil changes and regular maintenance on an old car that I have. They keep it up and running. Steve is very personable and honest. He tells you what needs to be done and what it's going cost. I've already recommended them several times to other friends who have started using Steve's and like him well. Everybody I know who has used his service finds him to be very professional and very good. He finds out what is wrong with your vehicle and fixes it. Dorothy Woessner more

A great choice for a mechanic. You cannot go wrong with Steve. 11/11/2010

I had a Honda and was interested in finding a Honda mechanic, so I tried Steve's Auto Care. The first time I went in, Steve looked at my car and fixed something that was wrong and did not charge me for it. I thought he was so trustworthy, and I have been using his service ever since, for the last 10 years. He has fixed a cracked radiator and done all of my general car maintenance. I do everything there. I feel that I can trust him and am very comfortable with him and his professionalism. Steve's Auto Care is a great choice for a mechanic. You cannot go wrong with Steve. Reasonable prices, good mechanic. 10/12/2010

The first time I went to Steve's Auto Care, for my Mazda, I was looking for someone to take care of the clutch. He was really upfront and told us that it was not really a thing he does, and he made a really good recommendation. He knows when to turn away or keep business. Steve has worked on my Acura, and while I don't get the same bells and whistles as I do at the dealer, I get a much better price. It works beautifully. He also gave me enough feedback that was similar to the dealer so I know that he is right on the money. I think he's really good. He gets you in and out on time, and his rates are very reasonable. He is not the cheapest, but he is reasonable. I like dealing with him because he is not the corporate type. It is straight talk and straight repairs. He also keeps the parts to show me what is going on. I lent my car to my son in Davis once, and the rats chewed off the cap for the radiator fluid. Steve was the one who discovered it before it became a problem. more

Highly recommend Steve! 9/28/2010

After moving, we needed to find a good mechanic and were disappointed with the ones in Sonoma. Am I glad we found Steve! He is honest, diligent and patiently answers all my questions. I trust his work and gladly drive to Novato from Sonoma to have him work on our cars. more

A Plus! 9/10/2010

I have been nothing but satisfied with Steve's Auto Care. My husband was in the car business for a long time, and after the divorce I didn't know who to turn to. I asked a friend of his, and he recommended Steve as a real honest guy who would take care of me. As a woman alone it is easy to get ripped off. I have been taking the car to Steve since then, so about 5 or 6 years. I have been very satisfied with his honesty, diligence, and the over all service. He is honest and reliable; I trust what he says. I've known a lot of shady mechanics, and he is not one of them. more

Steve is The Best. Won't go anywhere else - why? 9/7/2010

By far the best mechanic for your money. Maybe not the absolute cheapest but do you really want "the cheapest" or THE BEST. He has been my mechanic for over 15 years and my 12 year old Honda runs like the day I got it. more

I've been taking my vehicles to Steve since 1994 9/7/2010

Steve has been my mechanic/auto tech since 1994, well before he opened his own place. I have always trusted and valued his advice with regard to my vehicles. I first met him while driving a 74 Camaro and I know he dreaded working on that car, but he did so just as if it were a newer vehicle, then it was an OLD Oldsmobile, finally a 98 Toyota Corolla and now he works on my 03 Toyota RAV4. The service is prompt, prices are beyond fair and I've never had to bring a vehicle back for the same thing twice. Yes, he can be somewhat busy at times, and you may have to wait a day or two to get your vehicle in. Keep in mind that this is a one man shop, but Steve handles it with such professionalism and grace it's hard to believe he's the only one there. I highly recommend my friends and family to take their vehicles to Steve's and have never had anyone complain. They all thank me and so will you!! more

Service you can rely on! 8/26/2010

I had been told by two different shops that the loud noise my car was making was not due to a collision I recently had, however I knew it had to be. The coincidence was just too unlikely. Steve diagnosed it correctly and my insurance paid to fix it. He is an excellent mechanic and a caring individual. more

Honest and upfront. 8/5/2010

I drive a Lexus, and Steve's Auto Care specializes in Japanese cars. I found him to be extremely fair with reasonable prices. His service is excellent. My daughter was going there first, and I have probably been going for about a year and a half. I have been very pleased. My daughter drives a Honda, and she was having some issues with her brakes. She took it to a different shop and they were telling her that she needed a whole new brake system. Steve told her is wasn't necessary, and that as long as she could live with the vibrations her brakes were fine. She appreciated his honesty in telling her that the new brakes weren't necessary. Her brakes are still fine. more

Steve is a good person to work with. 8/4/2010

Steve is very attentive and available for questions. I am nursing an older car, and he is very helpful with that. He is cognizant that I want to keep it going, but that I don't want extra work put into it. I have been using him for at least 5 years. Recently I was towed to Steve's Auto Care for over heating. Steve really went the extra mile and stayed later so that he could look at the car. He is very helpful and a nice guy to work with. Steve is very down-to-earth, a good human being. more
