We got married here last summer and while the estate itself is really lovely, the service was absolutely awful! The woman who ran the property, Cindy, was rude and constantly seemed overwhelmed and would complain about ""her brides"" and their demands - which is funny because I was a bride! She was unresponsive and usually unprepared. Not to mention that the prices changed regularly and a service charge was suddenly added once we decided to use outside catering (the food at the Stevens is really good; however, you don't get much without paying a fortune!). I was even told the more services I took away from her, the more she'd have to charge me for other things (who says those things?!). The day of the wedding she wore casual clothes (like capris and a shirt) and never changed to dress approporiately - my guests made comments to me about this and her attitude. She was rude to my wedding party and treated us like we were children. Her overnight staff was rude as well. I have never been so disappointed in a service (that WAS NOT CHEAP) in my entire life. We spent over $12,000 on the Stevens Estate alone to be treated badly and ruin the whole planning process. It's a shame that my amazing day will always bring back memories of this person who doesn't know how to do their job properly! To top it off, once I returned from my honeymoon, I received a nasty email from her. So very unprofessional. She's just a miserable person who should have stayed a florist. She has no organizational or social skills whatsoever. I hope for people in the future who want to do events there - epsecially a wedding, that Cindy has moved on to another field entirely. It's hard not to bitter when it concerns your wedding.
Pros: Beautiful setting; lovely grounds; good food
Cons: Expensive food; inside is run down; staff is rude, disrespectful and unorganized; too expensive for what you get
