He's known for being one of the shops with the knowledge and willingness to work on older Harleys. 44 days ago, I brought him a '74 FLH, with instructions to ""make it rideable"". This involved a bent pushrod. Day after day, all he had done was ""order (but not receive) a set of pushrods from Custom Chrome."" On Day 42, when I went to retrieve the bike, he informed me that he was ""not a storage facility!"" Did I ask him to 'make it rideable', or 'store it'? Day 43, I went back and tried to get the $300 I had advanced him. By then, he had walked down to El Cajon Harley and bought some used, scratched up rods, for which he charged me $130. The rest I could have in store credit. No cash back. I desperately tried to use the credit right there and then, so I would never have to see his face again. Not too much I could use in that shop. He refused to sell me any 50 or 60 weight oil, because he ""needed it for the bikes there."" I left with a $60 store credit, which I am donating as a raffle prize. Day 44, I sold the bike at a huge loss. This was the most insidious experience with a bike shop I have ever had the displeasure of enduring. Stett is the most unscrupulous 'business person' I have ever encountered. Did I mention discourteous, pompous, amoral, unethical, corrupt, nauseating, and a scoundrel of a swindler?
