Step Up For Students helps administer TWO scholarship opportunities for Florida schoolchildren. The K-12 INCOME-BASED FLORIDA TAX CREDIT SCHOLARSHIP provides low-income families with financial assistance toward private school tuition and fees, or families may choose assistance with transportation costs to attend a public school in another county. The PERSONAL LEARNING SCHOLARSHIP ACCOUNTS (PLSA) program helps families personalize educational plans for their children with certain special needs. The PLSA is available for qualified Florida children age 3 through 22 or high school graduation, whichever comes first. The PLSA allows parents to choose how they allocate scholarship funds among a combination of approved programs and providers that best meets their children's unique needs. Children who are homeless, or in foster care or out-of-home care also may be eligible. Visit www.StepUpForStudents.org to learn more.
