Worst

It's all ""wanna-be"" Italian food!!! Service is terrible. Bread is NOT Italian. Food quality is spotyty at best. Why do people rate it high? Maybe ignorance? I know Italian food....

Unbelievable Italian Food - In the 'burbs no less! 2/13/2009

Went last weekend and - despite the deafening roar (read: pretty loud) we had some of the best appetizers and main courses we've had since we went to Tuscany a few years ago. The hostess was charming and the waitress helped recommend a wine to go with our main course. Overall an unbelievable value - we would have paid a lot more downtown for what we got in the suburbs, and it wouldn't have been nearly as good. Oh - and the desserts! Who makes them? Addictive! We'll be going back. Pros: Food, service, atmosphere, value. Cons: Parking can be a zoo, and the place can get VERY noisy (still manages to be romantic) more

Tasty food and great atmosphere 11/29/2008

I have been to Stellina many times and have never been disappointed. From their tomato and goat cheese salad to the BEST shrimp scampi, I have ever had, Stellina is one of my favorite places to eat. Located in Watertown sq, the atmospher is great and so is the service. Great place for a date, a family celebration or just a place you want to grab a bite to eat. I highly recommend Stellina more

molten chocolate cake - yum! 5/24/2008

Stellina has become the go-to restaurant for my family - birthdays, mother's day, college graduation. We even utilized their new (at the time) back room for my wedding rehearsal dinner. We love Stellina for their consistently attentive service and their delicious, authentic Italian food (my grandparents grew up in Northern Italy and give Stellina their stamp of approval). No visit is complete without an order of the warm tomato salad and a few molten chocolate cakes. The tomato salad is perfectly seasoned, and accompanied by tangy goat cheese from Westfield Farm. The molten chocolate cake is rich and chocolatey, and is best shared. We have yet to taste a dish we haven't liked. Pros: Parking more

A solid alternative to the North End 8/9/2007

The North End has great restaurants and food, but it can be a tourist trap and a headache to get to for a nice evening. I took my parents and two guests from California to Stellina after failing to get reasonable reservations at several places in Boston. The decor was nice, despite it's location in Watertown Square. The main entrance to the restaurant is in the ""back"" from the lot. It was a tad awkward because they have a few outdoor tables set up around a makeshift fountain/garden. When we're in Watertown we HAVE to go to Stellina. The food is unbelievable and the service is the best. Try the warm tomato salad - to die for! Great menu and terrific wine! more

Not the star we heard 1/17/2003

Onion soup was excellent, Ceasar Salad bland and flavorless. Our main entree, a pasta dish was also not very tasty. Unseasoned. Celery in pasta?!? Dessert was terrific. Only place I've seen so far that charges a fee if a couple splits an entree. Slightly overpriced for what it was. Good size portions though. And Service was very good. Mediterranean soul 8/18/2002

This restaurant shows that it cares about every aspect of its offerings. I just can't figure out why they are still in the same funky Watertown Square location. But easy to forget the neighborhood once you're in. Every detail is well crafted from the chewy artisan breads to the decadent desserts and rich coffee. Very fresh foods, fresh menu ideas. Great food locally 6/5/2002

It's a treat to eat such marvelous fare so close to home. We went for the Italian based menu that includes many surprises: unique meat (ostrich) and the freshest seafood were all prepared with a flair. Service was flawless. Prices are quite reasonable given the quality of the meal. Who knew you could find such a gem in Watertown. Looking forward to meals on the patio this summer... Pros: food, service, menu variety more
