just wanted to head over and eat some oysters the other night. pulled into the parking lot and found a spot right out front. as soon as i parked an older guy came running out saying that the only way i could park there is to pay $5, even though i had just seen others park without paying anything. i asked him why no one else had to pay and he say that the spot i pulled into was $5. i laughed at him, and told him that was ridiculous. he seemed like he wanted to get into an argument about it, but i rolled up my window before he had a chance to retort. if you haven't noticed by other reviews, it's obviously not the finest dining establishment. save yourself the trouble, and go have a much better dining experience at laguna grill. the food is exponentially better plus the view of the beach is great too. Make sure you do not have a problem at the Brigantine Steak 38. A manager named Al, on 2 occasions that I know of, was extremely rude. First time was in front of my husband and his friend at the boat bar. He was yelling at one of his female bartenders - evidently really embarrassing her. Second was upstairs. My friend and I had a question about the bill. He was extremely rude to us and told us to go somewhere else if we were not happy. This happened on 5/31/07, and we will not go back, even though we live in Brigantine. more

i just moved to brigantine a month ago but steak 38 has wonderful food and the seafood is always fresh mickeys raw bar is great the food comes out quick and it is always good and the portions are worth the money and the bartenders are some of the most friendly people you will meet. go there you will love it Pros: atmosphere, seafood , steak more

My husband dined at Steak 38 for our anniversary this year. One of the best meals either of us has ever had...ever! A little pricey but we don't mind paying for great food. On the other hand, a few weeks later we went to Mickey's Raw Bar for seafood. What a major dissappointment!!! My husband got the fried shrimp platter, there were 3 small shrimp and a heaping mound of fries. It was way overpriced, I left feeling hungry and violated! We even got ripped off in the parking lot. There's a parking lot you can't possibly park in --forcing you to valet park to go eat in some small bar with paper table cloths. My wife and I were looking for a steak restaurant in the Atlantic City area for our anniversary dinner. We saw Steak 38 listed in the Citysearch listings of best steakhouses, so made a reservation. We were seated at a table where the waiter had to ask me to slide my chair in every few minutes so he could service the table next to us. They agreed to move us, but the waitress seemed like she would rather be doing anything else except waiting on tables, our food was cold, and no one even asked how our dinner was until we were paying the bill. The waitress ignored two of our requests when we ordered. Overall a very disappointing experience. Avoid this place at all costs! more

My wife and I went to Steak 38 for a special celebration - I ordered a 3lb Lobster - she ordered Prime Rib. The food was served table side - the presentation was fantastic - service was wonderful -meal was delicious - and the whole experience was fantastic. After a Banana Fosters desert we went to the bar for a nightcap. There is live entertainment in the bar and we danced the rest of the night away. I highly recommend Steak 38 to all of my friends.
