The Setting
The park is located on 1,597 acres along the shoreline of the John H. Kerr Reservoir--also known as Buggs Island Lake--at the convergence of the Dan and Staunton rivers. Visitors here enjoy swimming, camping, picnicking and hiking.
The Facility
Cabins and camping are available at Staunton River State Park from March 1 through the first Monday in December. Sites are assigned upon arrival to best meet the needs of the campers. The park will make every effort to accommodate groups camping together.
