Poor Customer Service 5/27/2009

I ordered the kid's chicken tenders for my son and asked if he might be able to get a bun to make it into a sandwich. The waitress said ""Sure, no problem."" Then when we get the bill, she charged 50 cents for the bun. If I had known there was a charge for a 4 year old to get a bun, I would not have got it. She should have told me that she could accomodate my request but there would be an extra charge. When I asked her about it, she said her manager makes her ""charge 50 cents for anything extra, even a piece of cheese."" If she had an ounce of customer service sense, she would have at least apologized and taken off the 50 cents this time since she did not tell me. She was far too inept for this much thought. Needless to say, I won't be back. There are many businesses who are actually trying to keep their customers happy! Pros: No wait to get in Cons: Bad customer service more

Fantastic flavor, attentive service and comfortable atmosphere! 3/9/2009

After reading some of the reviews I was compelled to write. I can't explain nor understand any negative comment, but I can tell you about our experience there. I do not like frozen products and have found everything at The Station to be fresh and prepared perfectly. I have tried several items off their menu and have not been remotely disappointed with anything. Service is better than average, but I use to be server during college too so I understand the mindset in these young adults. But with even that being said I think the service is better than any other local place. I haven't met the ""married and high girl"" that Andy912 had, but I'm thinking maybe he was someplace other than The Station....the servers are all too young. I also had dinner at The Station on Saturday February 14th (they did a really yummy menu for only $50 a couple) and Saturday the 21st and they were busy both nights. I'm going back! Pros: Food, service, value and atmosphere more

BEWARE OF BAD EXPERIENCES 2/26/2009

My girlfriend and I thought we would give The Station a shot (Rock Hill Location) WOW..... Where should I begin.... it was a Saturday night around 7 o c'lock and we were the only people there which should of been a sign but we went ahead and sat down at a booth. The waitress has to trippin or whatever... she was going on about how here husband was a low life with no job and how she doesn't make any tips at the station. We just kind of laughed in shock and figured at least we will be taken care of because she doesn't have any other tables in the entire restaurant. WELL NO!!! After we got our first drinks we ordered our dinner and a second drink... We waited 25 minutes and she was yapping away in the back with the employees but no drinks no nothing.... finally I went to the bartender and ordered our drinks... She came back finally and laughed about it and appeared to be high. My food was barely luke warm. When its a Saturday night and a parking lot is empty there is probably a reason.....but you live and you learn... go to outback or something..... skip right buy the dump Pros: Quiet atmosphere (BUT BECAUSE NOBODY WILL GO HERE) Cons: coke head staff, bad/cold food, 30 minutes between drinks....on and on more

Excellent dining in a relaxed retro-renovated romantic atmosphere 11/13/2008

I have dined at The Station numerous times with friends and family and have found EVERY experience to be rewarding of the decision to return. The food is consistent and superb. A diverse variety within the menu ensures a treasure for every palate. Waitstaff in a college town, and the turnover therewith, is forgiven. The kids are learning to be more that waitrons, for which I applaud them. I love college TOWNS and all that they have to offer, especially the eclectic spots like this. You won't find such a delightful restaurant in Charlotte or Atlanta. The acoustics are not dampened, but get over it. You can only do so much with a renovated service station and maintain the character of the architecture. Dining at The Station is an experience to be be remembered and repeated. Prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity of the servings. By the way, the person referencing ChicFilet was reviewing the wrong restaurant. Pros: Variety, Consistency, Value Cons: Limited lot parking, but worth the walk from street parking more

Chick-Fil-A has better service 8/29/2008

We went to the Station Bar & Grill on Highway 160 (near the Wal-Mart) this past weekend. The service was terrible. We waited 15 minutes and the waitress still had not taken our drink orders. We saw the manager walking around a lot and did not even say a thing. We ended up walking out and told the hostess that the waitress did not even wait on us. The manager saw us and did not even try to stop us from leaving or try to even apologize. This made me lose respect for the management of this restaurant. We ended up going to the Chick-Fil-A near Baxter. It was jammed pack, but we still had our food and were asked if we needed a refill twice in the time that we waited at the Station. For a restaurant that is supposed to be a little bit nicer, the service was terrible. We were not impressed and do not recommend this place. Cons: Service, Management more

Good quality and great tasting food with friendly and attentive service 6/16/2008

I travel to the Charlotte/Rock Hill area often and found this diamond of a restaurant about 3 years ago. The menu is large with a wide variety of choices. My favorite is the Chippino, Shrimp & Grits and their juicy burgers. I have dined alone at the bar (the owner is usually working the bar and is very friendly and accomodating) as well as in the main dining room. The Station has a lot of charm with great food and service. You can taste the quality in any dish you choose. The Station has always made me feel welcome and party of the ""neighborhood"" crowd that frequent there. With all my traveling this is the one place that consistantly has great quality food with friendly service. I highly recommend! Pros: Service, Food, People more

Good Food/ Poor Service 3/18/2008

The food is good with many varieties to choose from on menu. The inside appears to be modern and clean for a renovated gas station. Some of the coushins on booths have long tears in them and will snag your pants. I have been to the station many times for business meetiings and for socials with friends. Sometimes when I went to the resturant I got a waitress who was friendly and gave me good service and sometimes I got a waitress who appeared to not have a clue as to what she was doing and where she was at! This gives me the conclusion that the waitress staff is not trained well by managment. I would rate their customer service as below average also. One time with a group of friends the waitress had to go around the tabel and ask everyone what they had to eat and drink, then 10min later the same waitress came back and asked us for the same info agian!! It took 30min after that to get a bill, they cleaned up all of our empty plates and got us all to go boxes 45min before all of this...and the owner was no where around helping the waitress take care of our group. When an owner finally did come away from the bar area to our table was when he wanted to confront me about refusing to pay the 18% gratuity for the worst service I ever recieved from there. I did pay a gratuity, it just was not the full 18% that they added to mine and my husband's bill (party of 2). The owner did not try to solve the problem by asking me what happend to make me not want to pay the tip but he told me that I had to pay it and it was their policy...when we said okay we just wont come back again...loudly he said fine l'll just take it off and waked away. I did not recieve any remorse for the poor service. Our impression was they did not care if we ever came back again. What ever happened to good customer service?? Pros: good cooks, good food Cons: poor service more
