State Street is a barber shop for men like me that want a quality cut or style without getting ripped off at a salon that targets women anyway. Previously, I found myself putting up with Supercuts or the like because I was not totally obsessed with my hair. There is a State Street location right in my neighborhood, the price for a cut is in the middle of the road ($24) and they take appointments. Their stylists are qualified and competent, but they are not trying to be the next Vidal Sassoon (my stylist, a woman, had cut men's hair almost exclusively for her whole career). They also have nice services like an old school shave and massage treatment and a shoe shine service.
