Your Average Liquor Store 3/5/2008

Liquor stores in WA state irritate me in general, because liquor sales are so regulated here. You won't come in finding wines and liquors and mixers. For mixers, go to the grocery store. For wines, go to the grocery or better yet a wine store. For liquor, go where you can, because there aren't many stores in this state that sell it. This Liquor store is as good as any I've come across in the area, but it's still WA state, so the convenience of doing all your shopping in one place is sure to elude. more

Feels like going to jail 4/4/2006

I gotta tell ya, I'm not a fan of the Washington State Liquor Store in Redmond. The only reason they get two stars is because they sell liquor, and that's a good thing. I think it's probably just because, being from Florida, I'm used to a little more refinement in your average liquor store. For example, I was looking for some mixers, and they didn't have them. (Other than a gigantic jug of margarita mix.) I know I can go right down the street to QFC for mixers, but why should I have to? I did find what I wanted as far as liquor, but the wine selection was limited and overpriced. I dunno...I guess it's fine, but it just feels WAY too institutionalized in there for me. (Makes me glad I'm a beer and wine drinker!) more
