I had a large loss house fire in February 2015. My family had a very traumatic experience getting out of the house and my wife and kids were distraught. I called the national State Farm number within 2 hours of the fire starting to get the process going. The next day, I still had no idea what the next step was even after talking to the national number. When I call Dan, he said he could help getting that cleared up. Bottom line, it took 60 HOURS before an adjuster was there and giving us an advance check so we could the clothes and essentials. If it wasn't for our neighbor helping us, those 60 hours would have been worse. We borrowed clothes and I still had what I grabbed as I ran out of the house. 60 HOURS and I NEVER saw Dan. When I called and asked why it took 60 HOURS and I never even saw Dan in the process, he stated that he had to be in the office to make calls to get someone there. He couldn't take my calls at one point because he was out of the office. He stated that he had previous engagements so he couldn't come out to meet us and just give my family the confidence we would actually see some progress. We were traumatized by the fire and my agent told be he was too busy to come out and help? Well, I was on my phone the whole time cancelling the 9 customer visits I had scheduled for that week. I did my business remotely. I am amazed that someone who is suppose to there for us actually told me he couldn't take my call because he had previously planned appointments. I canceled an entire week of travel plans because I obviously had to do so. My family was homeless, and the adjuster took 60 HOURS to come to us. Dan was absolutely no help and even took a defensive tone about how he couldn't come see us. A simple face to face handshake and comforting words about how this would be taken care of would have been nice. We are less than 10 minutes from his office and he was TOO BUSY to even come by and reassure my wife and family that State Farm would take care of us. Absolutely UNACCEPTABLE!
