I went into purchase an outfit for my sons wedding and found exactly the suit that I wanted. The selection is fabulous and the clothes are just beautiful. I was treated very well, in fact they were very honest in their opinion when one outfit was voted out of the group I had selected. The fitting was perfect, everything arrived on time, and I felt very confident that I would make my son and daughter in law to be very proud. I hope the complainers have told the staff at Star the problems that they had so they can correct them. However, I doubt it. Sign me very satisfied with the staff and clothing at Stars. more

If you've read the other reviews on this page and are considering not checking this store out, STOP! I had set up an appointment with them, and after reading the reviews, almost cancelled it. I'm so glad I didn't - I had a great experience at Stars. The staff was excellent - this was the only place I went to where the consultant actually sat down with me to find out what kind of wedding I was having (formal/informal, day/night), what the groom was wearing (khakis & blazer/suit/tux) and some other questions just to get a feel for what kind of dress I may be looking for. Then, she went and picked out a number of dresses, got me a pair of shoes (another first), and then proceeded to help me in and out of every single one of the dresses - plus, she got more dresses based on what I said I did and did not like. They let me try on headpieces, veils, even jewelry. It was also nice that the seamstress was on-sight and available to ask certain questions - also something I hadn't experienced at other stores. I found a few dresses that I really loved and they were more than agreeable to me coming back a second time with my sister so I could see them again and compare them to another dress I was considering from another store. When I went back for my second look, the staff was just as wonderful - I tried on all three dresses that I had liked the first time, and then made my decision to buy one of them - they let me stay in the dress for about 1/2 hour while my father came from his house to see it (and pay, of course). They didn't rush me at all - it was a wonderful experience! Also, my sisters looked at a number of dresses in the bridesmaid lines - the staff was very encouraging to them, finding more and more dresses for them to try on - I think they tried on about 15 dresses before the day was done. I would highly recommend anyone going to Stars - I found the staff to be very personable and the experience to be a very personal one - I even called them a few weeks after I ordered the dress, and they kn more

In my opinion, one the best selections of gowns in the state of CT. I have been all over looking for that perfect mother of the bride dress. Not one dress truely took my breath away. I walked into this store after researching on the web and calling to see if they had the rare dress in, I went to visit. I was greated by Joanne and explained I called for a dress. She retrieved that one and chatted with me for a couple of minutes and suggested I try on a few dress that she thought I might like.This gal KNOWS her product lines. I now have 3 gorgeous gowns that I love each and everyone of them. The difference with Joanne at this store was, as busy as they were, she spent quality time pinning, stuffing and fluffing my dress for it to look like it the day I would be wearing it. Highly reccommend A++++ for quality of service, knowlege of product, and selections. more

The dress was perfect!! It was everything I imagined for my wedding day. I can't thank the staff of Stars enough for all the detail and time that they spent with me. From the first phone call, when I asked tohave a dress I had only seen on-line to be ordered, you never said no to me...even whwen you reminded me that I can't try this dress on first because you didn't even cdarry this line, you never said you couldn't do it. So I received this gorgeous Kristie Kelly gown that was fitted to my body like a glove. It was exactly how I wanted to look and my husband LOVED the way I looked walking down the aisle. Very good service... the saleswomen were very helpful and nice, not pushy at all. They were very efficient in getting me answers to my questions and prompt in returning my phone calls. The wedding gowns were a bit pricy, as were prom and mother of the bride gowns. As for bridesmaid gowns, they were reasonably priced, and after a discount (for buying 4 or more) they were very affordable!! I definitely recommend Stars... I drive an hour just to get there! more

I had terrific customer service, my wedding gown was top of the line, the fittings were efficient, and they were able to assist in the restoration of an antique headpiece. The veil and headpiece turned out better than the original! I booked an appointment to peruse through their dresses, which I believe is standard procedure at quality dress shops. Everyone was extremely helpful in narrowing down my options. more

I got my wedding dress from Stars and my mother-in-law got her dress there as well and our experience could not have been ANY BETTER! The women (Hope, Mina, Karen, etc.) were so wonderful to work with and they helped with everything. I felt that they almost became a little part of our family because they were excited to hear about and share with us every little aspect of the wedding. I was sad when I picked up my dress because I didn't want to stop visiting them and seeing them. I left with the promise that I would be back with pictures and just to chat because they were so great. I HIGHLY recommend Stars for all of your dress needs. Thank you Stars! more

We got my mom's and all my bridesmaid dresses at this location and we loved Nina who was the seamstress.... She was very overwelmed and I picked my dress up a day before the wedding... But LOVED them.. I have gotten all my dresses for every occation There.... Also you get a discount on Bridesmaids if you get yours there :) more

One of the greatest moments of my wedding was walking back up the aisle with Eric (my new husband!) and having him turn to me and say, "You look beautiful & your dress is GORGEOUS!" I knew he would love it, but hearing him say it meant SO much to me. Not only do I think I looked fabulous (thank you!) but my two sisters, Amy (Baldwin-Stephens) and Sara (Davis) looked stunning as well. The service at your shop was incredible and going to the store was nothing but a pleasure EVERY time! A big thank you to JoAnne and to Mina for constantly making me feel fantastic in the store and assuring me I would look fantastic on my wedding night. You two are truly great women! more
