Starrett City Management

ive been living in starret since i was 10 years old. for about 15 years now, all i can say is numbers dont lie, where ever there are black folks,the crime rate is up and value of community is down! as far as back i can remember black folks think they own starret city. not allowing white people to play in basketball courts. stealing bikes on a daily basis, ambushing for some pocket robbery...\r but thats what you get from ignorant parents who practically live for free and still dont want to make anything of themselves. enjoying the free ride and passing it down to there ignorant kids as well.. this place was built for low income people to get a little bit of support from government untill you can actually be able to move out after education and better income. the stories i here in the lobby.. giiiirll, management office wants to me work!!! they buggin!!! 80% of starret lives practically for free sure alot are disabled or old. but the ones that live here for over 20 years and basically free, are now setting up meetings in the lobby complaining about management, maintenance and mailman, stupidity!! be grateful you evan live in these luxurious buildings without paying utilities!! not to mention in the summer time, there hasent been one summer where you dont hear gun shots.. and ignorant young folks on welfare smoking weed in the back of the buildings.. its embarrassing to evan invite guests over at times!! im not a racist, but it is how they make it to be... you will never see stop and frisk going on in safe neighborhoods like midwood, or evan bensonhurst and bayridge.. wake up and make something of your selves, more

Starrett City is a wonderful Community The management team is great I went there to pick up an application and they were very professional and respectful. I also lived there with friend for about 8 months maintenance team is great also.would love to live there if I had a chance. more

I lived in Starrett City for 30 years from 1975 to 2005. Been active on the Tenants Association. Staff have always been respectfull. The unit I lived in was maintained and the maintainace staff took pride in there work. Would still be there if my job did not transfer me to another state. I have lived in Starrett city for 15 years and I have to agree with the other reviews, You deal with a lot of rude people on a daily basis. The front desk people in the management office is rude beyond belief, as if you owe them something. The cabinets are falling apart, when you call for carpentry to be done they give you the run around. The attitudes they give is unbelievable as if money is coming out their own pockets. The leaking in the the air conditioning/ Heating systems are horrendous... I literally have to get all the tile pulled up in my house. They made me wait months for carpenters to come in, fungus, Mold and mildew have grown underneath the ruined tile... Think long and hard before moving here. I have developed a cough that is rediculous, my nephew suffers with asthma horribly ... I am going to contact my local council members and possibly an attorney if this mess does not get fixed in a timely manner... Pros: Spacious apartmements, NIce janitors and maintenance workers Cons: EVERYTHING ELSE!!!!!! more

Is this the Office to contact when you have a question about pets? My move in is the middle of March and I wanted to know if I can bring my puppy a Maltese/Poodle mix -- I've heard some different responses. The last one was to get an appointment with the management office. more

have been a tenant here is Starrett City for 10 years and can say the same like a previous member. I was interacting with management for some time to. (Noise compnts) . I agree that the majority of workers in the office are extremely rude!!! The apartements and maintenance is great! (the only thing, that the kitchen cabinets will not be change for 25-30 yrs!!!) highly recommend that all tenants take a stand and make complaints. Some of my friends, who are working... and making 45k-55k were never been approved to get appartments. Cause it's racial discrimination at some point. They have rights to. This is discrimination!! more

I have been a tenant here is Starrett City for 25 years and can say first hand I have been interacting with management for some time. The elderly woman at the front desk and the majority of workers in the office are extremely rude. I also have seen many incidents where other tenants where so irate and almost fights have broken out.
