Classes tend to be a little boring but they do help you learn a lot! Employees here are very nice and helpful. Cafeteria food is not very good. Suggest you bring money and other from home but no refrigerator. more

Before his visit to Starlite, James would drink 4 gallons of whiskey and a bottle of pills in 4 days. I never left him alone for fear of finding him dead. Now, I can go visit the family and not worry anymore. I have the sweet angel of a man back that I married. Thanks again to you and God. I don’t know where we would be without you. We almost lost everything we had, his job of 28 years; our home of 20 years, besides our life together was also in jeopardy. Not because of less love, just too much heart break and denial. I was alone all the time even though he was here. more

Can you please convey this to the staff that taught our family program last weekend that I thoroughly enjoyed the experience? Not only that, but I have come away from this with more compassion and understanding of my husband's disease. I’m not saying when he comes back our family will be perfect and everything has been resolved, but what I am saying is that I feel I have better tools to use to work out my marriage and overcome our situation. more

I gratefully and gladly attend 6 to 8 AA Meetings per week. I am of service to those who suffer and I work with other alcoholics. I am living in Des Moines now and I am further blessed to be near one of my daughters and to have a relationship with her that I dared not dream possible and I know could not be if I were not sober. She and her husband will have their first child (my first grandchild) in October. more

We could never travel far due to his need to turn around and get back to drinking. We are now planning a trip to Oklahoma to see our grandchildren. We are planning camping trips and things like that. more

Starlite helped me begin my journey in sobriety. Their staff of well-experienced counselors and techs assisted me as I learn hot to clean house, trust God and help others. The program at Starlite is excellent and I would recommend it to anyone looking to recover from alcoholism or drug addiction and learn how to live a sober and healthy living of life. more
