Stargate Bar & Nightclub

this club is cool except for the fights or brawls outside of it at closing time. I and my friend got smacked around. They have weak drinks also. Not fun getting harassed in the parking lot or while walking home. I got a black eye to prove it! Probably will go back though. Pros: music Cons: crowded and hot more

So as a former employee of Star Gate and several other night clubs. i will warn you to avoid this bar on Club Cystal night. its dangerous. However i do disagree with the other posts on this site that denounce it to the point of saying you're risking your life. metal detectors are only used on crystal nights due to the seedy crowd and wanna be thugs that show up. i worked there for two years before i finally quit to go back to school. i would rate the bouncers as nothing but courteous and those that arnt are promptly fired by the wonderful Mr. Mike or Amanda. All in all Wed. is my favorite night to go myself and friday nights are fun and enjoyable for those underage. i've never had a bad time and the drink prices are great, the waitresses are extremely good looking and coureous, the bouncers are professional and will walk you to your car even if they have other more enjoyable things to do. Star Gate is by far one of the safer clubs in the city. at least its not like the venue where every piece of trailer trash in the city shows up to dance with the barely legal innocents who know no better, or Spin that is so packed a girl could die and no one would notice until 3:00 when the bar finally empties enough for a person to stretch their arms farther than three inches from their sides. I always enjoy myself and did even when i was under 21. drinking doesn't make that club fun the people do. This was a terrible place to be. I had no idea how violent this place really was. The bouncers, after hitting on us, apparently no longer wanted us in the club because we were not interested in them and said if we didnt leave they would "drag us the ***k out" Unbelieveable. We went because of the free drinks but im thinking my life is more important. When telling this story to a friend she told me how she went and her boyfriend assulted by the bodyguard because he told the guy to leave her alone. If that doesnt stop you from going, maybe the metal detectors, the patdowns and the search of your pockets and purses will. But im sure you can ask the cops who are always outside because of the shooting and stabing that happened this year, or the paramedics. Seriously, avoid this place. Although I'm sure Stargate has its share of problems, I was confronted by a power hungry law enforcement officer who thought that he could use Mace whenever he pleased. Now you may be thinking that I probably did something to deserve it, but you're wrong. I was the designated driver just trying to get my buddy, who had been kicked out of the club, to the car. The officer simply saw that I was with him and pulled his mace on me. I threatened to bring him to court if he pulled the trigger. He replied by saying "Oh you're gonna bring me to court huh?" and pulled the trigger. Now its time to get what's coming to you guy, have fun battling it out in court with my personal injury attorney. Oh, and as far as the club goes, plenty of hot women in there... great place as far as that goes. The staff is really nice but I would never want to work there. The owner is rude and annoying. Ive seen and heard her yell at the staff in front of customers. To me, I think that is extremely unprofessional! Who wants to see that. It ruined my experiece there and I felt bad for the people that work there. Noone should have to put up with that kind of treatment. I have a friend who she was rude to also, you'd think the owner of a club would set a good example and treat her customers and employee's with respect. more

I have been going to stargate almost every wednesday for a little over 2 years now and i LOVE it i met so many new people the people are all really nice although the girls can be a lill snobby sometimes and it does get crowded but everybody is pretty nice. i have never had any problems with the staff they all seem pretty nice so to the people who say that they are rude maybe it's you and maybe they just dont like you for something u did or whatever i dunno i have never had a problem with them im friends with a few! About a year or two ago, it was jammin. Now with all the new staff, its not like it used to be. They hired a lot of rude people. I used to go there every Wednesday and Saturday. The bouncers, I admit, are hot, especially William. I really miss Veronica. She's the best beer girl ever! She rememberd almost everyone's name that came through the door. Now if their saff was like anything she was, it would be the best club and the lines would be a mile long and the parking lot and streets would be full. The staff for Stargate was terrible. It seems like the only thing that they're worried about is getting people in and out of the club. Even when I went to pay, the girl letting us in was rude. She kept rolling her eyes and glaring at people going in. It's a pity when the STAFF ruins your experience. Tsk tsk. My friends and I go here every Saturday we are home from college. A great atmosphere with hot people. It does get very crowded on the dance floor, but its not unbearable. more

Stargate has it all to offer, period. Great light show, good service, an incredible crowd, everything a nightclub should have. The music and sound is top notch. I first went to Stargate a couple years ago when a friends referred me. Now, it is the only club I will go to. Cover is not that bad at all, and Wednesday nights are the best nights to go:KDWB is there, more people go, and cover is even cheaper! Plus, the people that go there are very good-looking(male and female wise) I have met many friends there, and will continue to go back over and over! One thing you have to watch for: It's in a strip mall, so you kinda have to look for the big sign above the entrance, or you may pass it by. All in all, great club..! This is the best club in the cities by far. College aged people make up the majority of the scene. The music is good, the drinks are good and the atmosphere is better than anything else you'll find. more

I was very disappointed that the staff at Stargate were so rude. I am a very polite person who does not cause any trouble and I was snapped at for asking where the bathroom was by one of their people at the door. Then, when I went to order a drink, I was ignored by the female bartender even though I was next. She allowed so many guys to get drinks before me, I went to another bar. Maybe she didn't think I would tip as well because I am not a guy? Who knows? I don't think I'll go back there again.
