I don't care what you say about Starbuck's coffee. It is good. It is actually very good. Yeah, high school kids, artist wannabe's, and other pretentious people do call Starbuck's "home," and, yeah, those same people work there, and, yeah, if you stare at the prices too long your retina will burn up, but the coffee is still excellent.
God, for some reason, has blessed the city of Lewisville and me with a Starbuck's on Main st. (ie. Cross Timbers in Flower Mound just past the city limits). So almost all of what I mentioned above is taken out of the equation and sweet, earthy, hot, acidic, clean coffee can be had without the poopoo looks or the behind the counter nose pierce comparisons.
Can I tell you? I had to stand at the register at this self same Starbuck's and listen to this overweight girl tell a story about how no one liked to listen to her stories in high school. And the guy working with her didn't listen to her(he was actually working). Would you like to know how I knew? Because she asked him if he was listening and he replied "huh?"
I KID YOU NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For some reason other than the fact that it is her job to take my coffee order, she turns toward the register, notices me, and said "Oh....hi....can I help you?"
"OH"???????????
You save an "oh" for when someone surprises you. Like when you're talking about an ex to your friends and your wife walk by or you bite into a chunk of ice cream that you just dug out of your freezer and it turns out to be frozen sour cream. You don't "oh" when you are at work ------working!!!! I replied with "I purchase coffee here, right? Am I in the right place or should I go somewhere else?" She did not answer. At that moment I had an imaginary gun in my mouth and I was ready to pull the trigger....that's how insane she made me. Urgh.....
I'm usually a level headed and reasoning human being. Please, read my other reviews. I sound sane in those review, but Starbuck's and nonsense cashiers in Starbuck's make me crazy.
But, man, that coffee is GOOD. Thank GOD for drive throughs.
