Best

Great service! Friendly baristas! I don't understand the negative reviews for this location. So I'm compelled to write a review to give you the skinny on this very busy loc...

Worst

starbucks's primary contribution is definitley its convenience. i just think its a bit unoriginal and not quite as charming as some smaller, locally owned and managed stores.

Where's the Starbucks? 10/14/2002

Like McDonald's, if you go to any Starbucks, the selection is more or less the same and is understood what you want at any Starbucks. The pastry selection could be improved with more choices, though. I wish there was a Starbucks that was opened 24hrs here in Austin, just like they have in Cherry Creek, in Lower Downtown Denver, CO. Pros: Consistent lingo, Everywhere Cons: Mediocre pastries, Lack Drive-thrus more

DARE DISPUTE THE ESPRESSO 9/26/2002

THE BEST espresso in town... those who cannot recognize, might as well drink folgers..... Pros: beans Cons: paper more

absolute worst mocha there is 9/13/2002

This is the absolute worst mocha there is. Worst if it's iced. Pros: Lots of them Cons: Lots of them more

corporate sludge 8/29/2002

Starbucks? Come on Austin, you can do better than freakin' Starbucks. They purposefully choose the bad coffee beans, then overroast them. So you're basically drinking burnt crap. more

""Cream"" of the crop 8/21/2002

Nice atmosphere , staff is pleasant, very fast service and very good Mocha Latte's!!!! Pros: pleasant, fast, clean Cons: expensive, small, crowded more

caffeine & treats rule 8/16/2002

starbucks hands down has the best and speediest served coffee. They have coffee down to an art. You can't beat a drive thru. the also have scrumptious treats and you have to love the organic chocolate milk and orange cream sodas for the kids. Pros: speedy, drive thrus rule, good treat selection more

Good enough for Austin 8/13/2002

The worst thing about living in Austin, is the lack of good coffee stands on every corner. I'd love to see a few more Starbucks, or better, a Seattle's Best in town somewhere. more

Gotta admit they're good 7/23/2002

I appreciate the value the local places like Ruta Maya and Little City provide as far as making Austin an interesting place, but I still have to admit that Starbucks has the concept down pat, so much so that they've converted me, someone who hadn't touched the stuff in years, into a regular coffee drinker. And they're frappacino's are great in the Austin heat. I hope the local guys can rise to the occasion. (Starbucks is also one of the better-paying chains.) more
