I don't know what the other 2 reviewers experienced or their level of knowledge when dealing with coin stores but my experience has been wonderful at this location. As a collector of many types of coins, you have a few places to go to add to your collection. There is eBay which has given mixed results since there are many counterfeit coins there and inflated grading, crazy overbidding, etc... but I have gotten many good coins there. Then there are coin shows and they are probably the best place since you get many dealers to compare from in one place. But for that day to day service, your local coin store is the place and then finding one that fits your style. There are those that were mentioned in the other reviews that cater to the high end certified coin only collector who has the money to spend on those types of coins and those are great for those types of collectors. The people I have dealt with at Star Stamps and Coins have been pleasant to work with, knowledgeable about what I was looking at/for and willing to educate myself and others that I have overheard them speak to. I've spot checked their pricing and they are right on in terms of current values for the coins I checked. They are also willing to bundle pricing to come down off of some of those within reason as well. I haven't tried to sell anything there but that's always based on current spot pricing of silver/gold so should be consistent across dealers and then for coins it all comes to their inventory and needs. They, like anyone else, will pay more for items that fill holes in their inventory and less for items that are more common. Their selection isn't the highest I've seen but much better than the average coin store I have visited.
