Pretty cool. 3/30/2012

Beginning to Fininsh. Discount for students & Seniors, none for Military or Law Enforcement -1. Ordered my wife a Margarita which tasted weak. -1. Chairs where comfortable to eat in but had no option to recline seats at all for movie. -1. Unable to put Arm Rest in upright postion to be close to my wife -2. Table could have been slightly larger. Server was niice and informative. Food was good, prices were good. movie was good. concept of dinner & movie at same time was very good and absence of all the kids hanging out was a nice change from typical 30 cinema facility. I would like to give Star Cinema 4 0ut of 5 stars and consider 5 stars if the seats were modified and discount was given to Military & Law enforcement. My wife feels compassionate and said to give you 4 out of 5 stars. more

MY FAVORITE PLACE TO WATCH A MOVIE!!!!! 4/5/2011

I LOVE this place!! Especially on Tuesdays and Thursdays when its only $5 to get in and there a beer and wing specials! Its a great alternative to larger chains that always have throngs of kids and teenagers running around! It is geared to a 21 and up crowd! The food is good for the pricing, as everything is under $10. The menu has a wide variety of selections especially considering they serve several hundred people simultaneously! My husband and I go at least once a week. I can even get him to see a chick flick after he gets a drink from the bar! :) more

Wow, I wish I had read these reviews before we went this last weekend! We've been to others in other towns before and loved it. We got there a little early before the movie and was writing out our order while the lights were all still one. more

Rats.... 2/26/2010

I love the concept of this place, but I just don't think it's being run properly. My boyfriend and I have been several times over the last few years and I've always had the vague impression that it's just kind of dirty. This was confirmed at my last visit in January. Once the lights in the theater went down and the movie started I saw a big rat run by me. I nearly screamed, but I convinced myself that I couldn't possibly have seen a rat. Unfortunately I saw it two more times during the course of the movie. I'd like to think that it was just a cold night and the rat happened to slip through an open door, but I can't bring myself to go back to this place. I did file a complaint with the health department right after the incident, so hopefully they've been by to inspect the place and everything is sorted out now. I still don't think I can go back here. Great Movie, Good Food, No kids 1/25/2010

Great place to catch a movie, have a beer, and not worry about crying babies. It more than makes up for the lower quality movie experience. The food is good, the tickets are cheaper than most of the other area theaters. Go on Tues or Thurs for great drink and food specials. Pros: Good food & drink selection, no kids, great T/TH deals Cons: Could have better audio/video more

First Timer 1/17/2009

Well..I went to Star Cinema Grill for my first time last night. I enjoyed the concept, but was disappointed when our food came cold! It was good but cold! And it got worse when they didn't bring back my credit card when I was paying. We had to bring it to their attention! The women's restrooms did stink like there was urine everywhere. Again I really liked the concept of eating and watching a movie at the same time, but I had a whole different view of what it would be like. I was also suggest that at every table there should be a little light that you can turn off and on to eat and see. Overall, the best part was the movie, Gran Turino..loved it! I would go again to give the place a second chance because I would hope that this is not how they normally operate. Pros: Decent selection of food Cons: Poor lighting for eating, cold food. more

I must say that I had a very different experience than some of the other reviews I have read about this very cool place. I dont drink so the bar is not what I will be writing about, although it seems to have just about anything you could think of. Pros: The Chipolie wrap is great. Cons: None we loved it. more

Better to go across the NASA 8/19/2008

The food is WAY overpriced as the quality is not good at all but the prices are high. The seating is terrible and uncomfortable, service is alright (although I am sure it is because they are tipped poorly and have no need to be as good as a regular server), but the only true selling point is the full bar. It would be better to just get slightly better food right around the corner at the other regular theater, but they do not have a full bar. Something about being able to have a beer, a glass of wine, or a mixed drink that has made this place stay alive. They usually have most of the regular movies, although I am sure that most distributors would rather their film get bigger numbers in a larger, better theater; maybe that's why they seem to be missing some of the big movies and want to overcompensate by having more brainless girl movies. Pros: you can get drunk Cons: terrible service, WORSE FOOD, cheap equipment (and everything else for that matter) for the same expensive prices; did I mention the horrible, cheap and overpriced food? lol more

Have been to Star Cinema Grill many times now. When the prices for a movie ticket are cheaper than anywhere else and the seating is spacious in comparison why would you go to one of the other 'big' theaters?!? This place is less crowded and typically few, if any, small children and the food is GREAT! Food prices and selection are comparable to somewhere like Buffalo Wild Wings--salads, wings, burgers/sandwiches etc. A meal here is a MUCH better deal than a popcorn and soda at the 'big' uns! And you get REAL FOOD! I love the spicy BBQ wings and have gone in just to eat wings at the bar on Tue/Thur when they are on special. YUMMY! I've had the honeyBBQchicken sand and burger as well as the tenders and the southwest salad. All have been good--the salad is a little different and VERY tasty! I highly recommend Star Cinema Grill any day! Pros: Spacious seating & GREAT food at a GREAT price! Cons: Sevice can be sluggish on occassion, but is usually just fine. more

Just right for us. 4/13/2006

Pros: Finally a place my Wife and I can go and have a break from the kids at home. The mature group of movie patrons was nice, great food, great service and it was clean! No groups of misbehaved punks, GANGS or any other ethnic and demographic problems were observed after my third time at this theater. Cons: My only real issue was that the lighting could have been dimmed more, plenty of light to see your food from just the movie on the screen. THANKS I'll be back. more

Overall A Great Time 3/2/2006

My husband and I went to the Star Cinema & Grill for our 1 year wedding anniversary and had a decent time. Although the movie we selected was not a favorite the food was great, the service was great and our overall experience was a good time. It was so nice to go and watch a movie without kids running in and out or someone talking on the phone or getting up every 30 minutes to go to the restroom. The theater itself was very spacious we didnt feel like we were sitting right on top of another customer and had a great meal at the same time. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for dinner and a movie! In fact I have told all my friends to give it a try. Pros: Good Parking Cons: Not a big movie sel. more

Best theater in Clear Lake area 12/18/2005

This has to be the best theater in the Clear Lake area. You can get dinner and a movie for a very reasonable price. The atmosphere is great, hands down. This theather caters to everyone with discriminating tastes. It is good to actually see a good movie in the company of quality people without any hassles. GREAT PLACE FOR ADULTS 11/11/2005

If you are looking for an atmosphere that is Adult friendly then look no more. This is the place to be and the best thing about it is for the same cost of other upscale theaters you can have dinner (not hotdogs and pocorn, unless that is your crave) and drinks. I recommend this cinema because it is clean, free parking and great food. Of course, just like everything else no one or thing is perfect, there is just one in the Houston area nd there should be at least one in all four directions; because north, south, east, west STAR Cinema is the BEST!!!!! Not too bad..... 11/6/2005

Overall, it wasn't too bad. It was nice to get food service to you through the movie, although the food wasn't all that great (it was frozen sam's food, only mine was undercooked). We went last night and I guess we were expecting someplace a little nicer, although we won't go back to a regular movie theatre. We got appetizers and a full meal with drinks, but we would skip the main course next time. The price wasn't bad at all, compared to a regular theatre. There are some kinks to be worked out (faster service, better quality food, picking up used dishes instead of leaving them in front of you through the whole movie), but we will go back and recommend it to friends, warning them of the problems. This is the way to see a movie. Great choice of food and drinks. The food was great and the service was prompt. A perfect date idea. There should be more of these types of places. The seats are comfortable and the rows are far enough apart to get in and out without stepping on your neighbor. Been here about four times now. Great for a date. It has a awesome lobby area with a full bar. It also has TV screens to watch any sports going on before the movie. The prices are awesome.
