He was friendly and on time however it seemed like he had no idea how to diagnose my gas fireplace issue. He spent about ten minutes asking me questions on what I had done to diagnose it and then said it was my valve. No testing whatsoever. I had to repeatedly ask him to actually test the system. He spent another ten minutes reading the instruction manual to the fireplace to see how it worked. When he went to test it it did not seem like he knew how to use his tools or how to test the system. He said he thought it was my valve, duh there are only 2 parts to a gas fireplace that can go bad and I had replace the other part! He told me he would need to look into getting a new valve. He left and called me a couple hours later and said my valve was no longer available and wanted to charge me $899 to repair. I went to my local fireplace supply store and found my valve in stock for $300. I ended up fixing it myself in about 30 minutes. He still wanted to charge me $100 for the ""service"" call. He said he was a specialist in the field and was seasonal so he had to charge what he felt he was worth. When I argued he said to either pay or he would send it to collections and that I did not want that. I should have read the other negative reviews on other sites. Many are the same as mine. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
