The following is a copy of my complaint to the Better Business Bureau:
On a Saturday afternoon on 12/17/2011, a spring on my garage door broke making the door inoperable. Desperate to have to both cars be able to be released from the garage before work, I contacted this company among others for urgent repair. I chose this company because the man said he would be at my house within 1 hour and I needed fast service. An hour later, I received a call saying he would be here in 20 minutes. He didn't come for another 40 minutes. By the time the man arrived, it was after 4PM and there was no other company had anyone available. He told me that the cost of replacing each spring wound be $360 installed. I questioned him about the price- he said that springs were high quality. In a little over 1 hour, both springs were replaced, and I was charged $621, saying that I was given a discount. The next business day, I did my homework and verified the cost with several other companies. I found out that the cost of each spring was actually $75, and therefore the total cost of the service should not have been more than $270 ($150 for two springs, additional $120 for 1 hour of weekend labor). So I was overcharged $351, and thus taken advantage of since I was in desperate need. I called the company on 12/19/11 to complain. I was told that the supervisor would be back tomorrow and my information was taken. I called again on 12/20/11, and was told that the supervisor would not be back until 12/27/11 due to the holiday. I called a third time on 12/29/2011, and was given the run around- I was told to call tomorrow morning. The fact that I have left messages meant nothing.
