I do not recommend this place. The lady who fits the pointe shoes seems pretty clueless, and did not treat me very politely, either (patronizing, snobbish tone; also kept making borderline-rude comments about how wide and unusual she thought my feet were, how she does not usually deal with such large feet, etc.) My feet are a ladies' 9.5C in street shoes, normal arches, and she acted like Shaquille O'Neal had just come in looking for those pointe shoes. During all of this, I actually had to figure out all of the toe padding myself, because she kept repeatedly trying the same products that did not fit, while rambling away about the size of my feet, trying to make it seem like I was to blame for her poor attempts to fit me correctly. Then, if one particular model/size combination would not fit, she would take away entire brands and not let me re-try them upon request (as in, these 6B Grishko 2007s didn't fit you, so, we won't try any more Grishkos or Chacotts at all, because ""they tend to be similar""). When she started with that, I should have walked out right then and there. She ended up selling me a pair of costly high-end shoes that fell apart within a week, all because she did not stock anything that fit any better, and her special-order policies took weeks, were pricey, and required multiple trips to and from this remote small town. Naturally, she refused to take the pointes back because I had sewn on the ribbons (necessary to wear them to class). No refunds, exchanges or credits- of course not, right? It was foolish of me to let her pull this stuff; however, at least I learned my lesson and never went back. I now give all pointe fitters the third degree over the phone before I ever waste time or travel. I will not be fooled twice. To boot, one of the assistant saleswomen was sick as a dog that day, and was coughing and sneezing all over the tiny, crowded, windowless shop. By sheer luck, I did not catch anything- except a headache caused by buyer-beware drama.
