Stag Tobacconists

This is an excellent store for any users of tobacco. They have a wide selection of smoking tobaccos(pipe, cigarette, cigar, etc.) for the aficionado or anyone who likes a good smoke. However, the big thing for me there is REAL SNUS! By ""real"" i mean the swedish/norwegian type, not the crappy camel, marlboro, etc. stuff that claims to be snus. They also have nasal snuff! Customer service is good, too. Stag also has a small lounge there, where people can feel free to sit, watch the tv, and light up a stogie. If I had to make a negative remark about it, I would say that they could use a larger selection of snus, maybe more types of nasal snuff, too. more

I just visited this shop after kind of running into when I made a wrong turn. The woman that helped me, who I later found out is the owner, went out of her way to find me exactly what I didn't know I wanted! I stopped in for a gift for my boss after seeing the Stag sign. I knew he smokes cigars, but I had no idea what a cigar smoker would want. She helped me put a gift together for him that I am sure will definitely impress. Even the customers in the store's lounge said that my choices were some of the best in humidor. They have a huge walk-in humidor with too many choices, and the cool lighter I got him with the cigars is a great addition. Overall, this was the best holiday shopping experience I have had in years. Great service, nice store, and a huge selection. 5 stars for sure. more

Smokinvato you haven't really shopped at Stag!! When I read this post, I couldn't believe your misinformation. The two sisters you speak of have been in that business since they were kids! I know their dad started the business back in the early 80s (santa fe and abq), and they do business just like their dad, who I shopped with in Santa Fe for 20 years. To others...I think Stag is the best smokeshop in the city...hands down! Stag knows their tobacco, they blend their own and if they don't have what you want they will blend it for you. Stag is a friendly place where friends meet, and you can find great cigars, pipes, tobaccos, cigarettes and pretty much anything you need. I was so happy to find Stag still here when I moved back to Albuquerque a few years ago. This is a great store with a friendly atmosphere. more

I used to love this place, before they moved across the lot when they built Walgreens, this was a cozy little place. I started coming here in the early 90's (maybe 1994 or 1995). There was a young couple that owned it and it was clearly a family business. I really got to know the owners and the young man who worked for them. Somewhere around 03 things really took a dive. Come to find out, the owner I knew (I think it was Tony) and his wife got a divorce, she apparently took him for everything and now runs the business with her sister. Well, I for one won't go here just on principle and would love to know what happened to Tony and the other folks I got to know along the way. I guess things always change, but I sure miss the personal touch I used to get...I've been back a time or two...it's just not the same anymore. more

Stag is by far the best Tobacconist in the City offering a wide variety of tobacco for the cigarette smoker, the pipe smoker and a great line of the best cigars on the market. You can buy hand rolled cigars made at Stag's as well. Lots of accessories with good prices, bargains and great service. You can sit and smoke with no cover charge, watch a game on the flat screen or read a book, play a game of darts or chess or cards. It's a nice size shop with good selections and a friendly staff.
