For international destinations, students can save some money and purchase less restricted tickets by using STA Travel's services and purchasing an International Student Identity Card (ISIC). If you visit the store in person you are likely to receive great service and find exactly what you need. They are very pushy about selling the $22 ISICs and will not let you purchase anything from them without holding a valid ISIC, so be forewarned. The toll-free number listed on their website (sta.com) is less reliable, hold times hover between 5-10 minutes and etickets and paper tickets are frequently mismatched to the correct flight, particularly on Air France, which does not accept etickets on all their flights. If one has the misfortune of obtaining a paper ticket (and not an eticket), much of the advantages of STA's services (like the small $25 date change fee) are lost. more
