Awesome Salon 4/21/2012

Cynthia St. Pierre has created a most wonderful salon. I hope that it never loses the welcoming atmosphere and service. This salon delivers in talented staff who are there to make sure that you leave looking like a star. It isn't cheap but it also isn't nearly as expensive as some of the more hoity toity salons in the valley who really only consider you to be ""another behind in the chair"". Unique, lovely and fun...and you always leave feeling that way. more

Best School Around! 2/14/2012

I attended school at St. Pierre Salon and Academy. From my experience it's the best place around to go to school. You learn how to do modern, up to date cuts/colors/styles! From my experience in working in other salons you won't find anyone who can give as perfect of a haircut as the girls/guys that attend St. Pierre Salon. I would definitely recommend this school to anyone who is interested in doing hair and has a passion to do it. Now, if you want the easy way out and really don't care how good you're gonna be, yeah, go to some other school and don't waste Cynthia's time. But, if you want to come out of school with the techniques and ability's most stylist have to work toward for years after they finish school to get, then St. Pierre is the right place for you. more

My Hairs Worth It - Wouldn't Trust Anyone Else 8/29/2011

I would trust anyone at St. Pierre's to do my hair. Cynthia first started doing my hair over 12 years ago. Now my whole family goes to her salon. I am confident to ask their opinions and go with their recommendations on what will look best and work best with my hair type. The environment is very comfortable; vintage and unique. They stylists are all friendly. You have your choice from students (who are well supervised but less expensive) to senior designers. You may pay a little more but the old adage, ""you get what you pay for"" is absolutely true. If you want to look like someone put a bowl on your head and cut around it, you can get a $15 cut somewhere else. If you want to look stylish, get a cut that is going to be easy to style with your particular hair type, and be styled by designers that are well trained, go to St. Pierre's. The only way you won't be happy with your hair when you leave St. Pierre's is if you don't speak up and tell them what you want! more

Unique Environment 8/2/2011

St.Pierre Salon is unique from the standpoint that the academy trains the designers and you get to know their strengths and limitations as they learn and develop their own style. St.Pierre designers have been cutting, coloring, and styling my hair for nearly 15 years. The environment is not your typical salon - - there is thinking going on there, collaboration, teaching, learning.... it is dynamic and unique for the Roanoke Valley. Sure, you can get a haircut cheaper elsewhere, but the additional cost is worth it. Do you want to get a haircut that will come from designers who are always in a learning environment, who collaborate, and who travel to attend educational opportunities - - or would you prefer a 15$ cut from someone who has always cut hair the same way and hasn't been to a training event in years? Not only do the designers learn, the patrons learn too! I have learned what goes into the cut that works best for my hair, the technique and products that will produce my best look, and how to take care of my color to maximize my investment. This salon specializes in short haircuts and cutting edge color. more

over priced 3/27/2008

ive been going here since august and everytime i go there the price gets higher and higher. just be prepared to pay a lot of money for the same thing you can get from a nice place in roanoke that would be cheaper. the girls talk a lot of stuff about eachother too, that gets old and is unprofessional. Pros: good products, new trends Cons: sketchy workers, always looked drugged up, extremely over priced more
