Dear Friends in Christ,
Our Lord Jesus Christ is risen from the dead, never to die again. We who are baptized into his death and resurrection have eternal life in His name through faith in His promises. What joy there is this May as we continue to celebrate the season of Easter. This month we will rejoice in His Ascension to His Father?s right hand where he sits as our prophet, priest and king. The Festival of the Ascension of our Lord is observed on May 21st this year. Below are Dr. Luther?s words on the Ascension of our Lord, written in 1523. I hope that you will be encouraged all the more to attend one of the Divine Services that day and rejoice that our Lord Jesus Christ has lead captivity captive.
