We had six children go all four years to St. Mary's H. S. The teachers go out of their way to help students. Students can get a great education and it is a family atmosphere. Sports are a fun and learning experience for the students. Everyone is welcomed and appreciated at SMH. more

More opportunity to participate at St. Mary's 9/18/2009

A previous review said to drive a little further to another school - I have to strongly disagree. We made the decision to send our children to St. Mary's based on 4 things: excellent academics, a strong focus on moral development, a culture and family feel that makes everyone feel like they belong, and an unparalleled opportunity to not just join, but to participate in a wide-variety of activities in a meaningful way - something that other schools near or far simply can't match. more

Also the only Catholic HS in Indep. 2/15/2009

Reading previous review makes one think that STMHS is better than other Catholic HS in the area. It is the only Catholic HS in the area of Independence. Most Natvity kids go to STMHS because of proximity. I say consider a drive a little further, to Ohara for a slightly larger school (not class size) and more options for the kids inside and outside the classroom. more

St Mary's High School 8/15/2005

St Mary's High School is a really good private high school education. The teachers are great with the students. It is a little pricey, but well worth the money for your child. The have a nice new gymnasium. And they have a wide variety of sports activities. So if you live near independence this is a great Catholic education. more
