St. Mark's has been blessed with a recently completed remodeling which enlarged the church with new offices, a library, and additional meeting rooms. An elevator and handicapped entrance were added to serve the north parking lot. A new Welcome Center was added in the Narthax, with materials to assist visitors.
St. Mark's has a "Three Division" Zimmer Pipe organ that was installed in 1983. The consultant for the design of this organ was Dr. Paul Bunjes, past chairman of the music department at Concordia College, River Forest, and a professor of organ design and music theory.
A recent addition to the Sanctuary is a high intensity projector that is used extensively in the Contemporary Praise Worship to provide activity updates, song lyrics, Gospel readings, and visual aids during sermons.
The "Banquet Hall/Gym/Education Center" can seat approximately 300 people, and has an adjoining fully-equipped modern kitchen
Traditional Worship
St. Mark's offers Traditional Lutheran worship at our Saturday evening service, and on Sunday mornings at our 8 and 9:30 am services, and uses the Lutheran Worship Hymnal, Missouri Synod. We have organ accompaniment at all traditional services, and occasionally include the Adult Choir and/or Adult Handbell Choir.
Contemporary Praise Worship.
The Contemporary Praise Worship format is provided at the 11:00 am service, and consists of the Praise Band and Singers who provide contemporary Christian music. The band generally includes keyboard, drums, guitar, and sometimes trumpets, violins, and other instruments.
