Lunch with co-workers or Happy Hour after work. Great burgers, chicken sandwiches and Philly Cheese Steaks. Don't forget the Fries. I am not normally a burger person but this is the place I go for a good burger! more

Great Philly Cheese Steaks 5/15/2009

I'm from NJ where you can pick up a Philly cheesesteak anywhere. So, most in CA are disappointing. But the ones at St. John's are great and worth the wait in line. They're 1/2 price on Monday nights. more

Really good burgers! 8/21/2007

Went there for lunch, and it was pretty crowded so get there before the crowd. Atmosphere is lively and a lot of fun. Very good burgers! Pros: Great burgers, beer, atmosphere Cons: Can get crowded more

Excellent Place for Burgers/Beers/Cheesteaks 11/9/2006

This place has some great food. Lines out the front door are common during lunchtime, with many of the folks repeat offenders, that shows you this place rocks. It might take you 10-15 minutes to order, but your food is ready in no time - and you can hang out on the big outdoor patio. Tri-tip Tuesdays are excellent, get the bigger sandwich if your hungary because the regular lacks enough sliced beef - it's more of a lady's sando. Happy Hours are not even that busy, so it is a good place to go after work for some beers and burgs. They could use a few more TV's if it were a big time sports bar, but they do have a older projection bigscreen that is always on local ports. I've even seen Bill Walsh - The Genius - eat there a few times (a few years ago), so this place has to be good. They're not open Sunday to watch NFL, that is the only bummer. 9/18/2006. I ordered just one Guaco Burger to go. They said it would only take 5 mins. I waited. I had to ask when my burger would be ready. They said ""don't worry, it's coming It took 20 mins. more

What to do after Fry's 5/12/2006

Saint Jonhs is the go-to spot for a good hamburger along north Lawrence. It's very large, there's seating outside, the food is good and the portions are good. Get a basket of fries with your buddies, maybe a pitcher of beer and a burger, and you'll have a tough time getting back into the workday swing. more

I have been going to St. Johns since 1984. I guess you will not hear anything negative from me. Burgers are EXCELLENT! Best in Town! Try the Guaco with Bacon burger you wont regret it! Everything else in their menu is also top notch. Pick any evening of the week and youll enjoy half price in both burgers and sandwiches. I take my family every Saturday morning. Cant beat paying around $22.00 to feed four of us burgers, fries, and drinks. Plenty of TVs, indoors and outdoors tables. Even if the place is packed, the line moves fast. Food is ready in 5-10 minutes. Pros: Great Food, Plenty of tables, Great atmosphere more

Saturdays are 1/2 price for burgers - even without that their burgers are the best! I'm a big fan of hamburgers and these are the best around! Try the bleu cheese burger sometime!! Pros: lots of TV's, friendly bartender, quick service more

Happy, happy Hour 4/29/2003

Go during happy hour which is relatively a long period afterwork and worth it. Everyday they have a diff special. 1/2 off cheesesteaks, burgers, or appetizer days are always the best. Don't go for their Tuesday tri-tip lunch... it's not much good. Their bar is tiny, but u can always bring drinks back to ur red-checkered table. Pros: 1/2 off BURGERS, Quick Service, Great Atmosphere Cons: Few large tables, Long lines at lunch more

Best burgers around! 11/21/2002

I'm not a huge burger fan, but I enjoy a good one every once in a while. I've been to Kirk's and Clark's and St. John's by far my favorite. Their fries are the BEST, and service is fast. The burgers are consistently ready within 5 min, no matter how busy. Lunch crowd can sometimes be heavy. Everything is great! Get the fries and eat them with lots of ranch, the best! On a nice day, sit outside, too dark indoors. One negative we found out by accident is that they are closed on weekend evenings. Clark's got our biz that nite, but we will always come back to St. Johns! But workout a little harder the next day or else you will pack on the pounds after one of their meals! Pros: French fries, Many burger choices, Casual atmosphere Cons: Closed on weekends, A little pricey, Inside is a bit dark more

Best Schmurgers In Sunnyvale 8/28/2002

After reading the good reviews about this place I went to check it out with a friend of mine, and we were completely disappointed. My burger was totally dry, and the pitcher of beer was too small. The TVs are too few and far apart to constitute a real sports bar. It was the opening day of college football (Fresno State was playing at Wisconsin), and they were showing all these preseason NFL games instead. How weak is that? The bar itself only sits about ten people, although there is plenty of seating elsewhere. Whether you are able to see a TV or not from your seat is a different story. Also, there are no waiters/waitresses. You have to stand in line and order your overpriced food, then go get it when your beeper flashes. On a upbeat note, their appetizers are pretty good, but thats about it. Pros: Food is fast, lots of space Cons: Food is not great, few TVs more

I eat at this place for lunch about once a week. I've tried their burgers, salads, chicken and cheesesteaks and all are top notch. I Have not encountered anything that the others are saying negative.
