St James Court Art Show

The St. James Court Art Show is a local event that takes place every fall in Old Louisville. There are artists that come in from all around the U.S. to showcase their work. But even better than that, there are wonderful local artists at the show also. Every type of art you can imagine is here. The admission is free to the show, but parking for it is crazy. There is actually no designated parking for this event. Since it is held in a residential neighborhood, most of the street parking is taken up by the vendors. The best bet is to park and walk, or pay someone to park in their yard. Also, plan to bring alot of money for the food (kind of like fair food-with its pricing). Also for the art. Even though it is all wonderful and unique, it is kinda pricey. more

The St. James Art Show is an excellent time head to Old Louisville. The art show is located in the most beautiful section of the largest Victorian neighborhood in the country. It's also during the nicest time of year so it's really nice to wander around the stalls with the leaves changing and the weather cooling off. My only complaint about the art show is there's a lot more crafts than art. And I'm not talking about cool folk art type crafts..just the regular boring cheesy stuff that you can find for the same inflated prices at a million retail stores. I love seeing the actual artists displaying their talents. That's the best part of the show. more

This juried art show brings hundreds of local and national artists. You can find paintings, sculptures, jewelry , clothing, pottery, and anything else you can imagine. The first Saturday of October, the place to be in Louisville is the St. James Art Fair. Sunshine Artist Magazine has consistently rated this art show in its top 200 in the country, and this year was rated number one. Its a juried fine arts and fine crafts show located in Old Louisville beside some of the loveliest Victorian homes in the area. Admission is free, and its held Friday , Saturday and Sunday.
