St. Francois Society

I am happy with adopting our dog. He is has fit into our family very well. I felt the dog was well cared for at the shelter, and was well matched. The reason why I gave a review a four instead of a five is that my dog has been "up for adoption for the last six month" I felt bothered that it was misleading to keep an adopted dog on the website without explaining that the dog is adopted. more

When we decided to adopt a cat, we decided to go through a smaller rescue facility than the Humane Society, so we asked our Vet and he recommended the St. Francois Society. We went to several of their locations where they had the cats up for adoption and then picked out the one that we knew would be a great addition to our family. As they are a not-for-profit organization, the fee was just a bit higher than adopting from the Humane Society, but it included the first set of shots/worming/spay or neuter and we got the ID chip. We had to fill out an application and be approved, so we knew that it wasn't a group just looking to get rid of their animals. Our kitten was socialized, litter trained and very loving and we've become supporters of the group since adopting them. Consider them as an alternative to the Humane Society. more
