Sri-Thai serving up good thai food in Dublin 10/16/2009

VISIT: So BF & I were in the Dublin's Hacienda Crossing Shopping Center mid August (wkday evening) coming from Ulta Beauty, when we both look @ each other, ""What are we gonna eat for dinner?"" (yes, we do this alot *tee-hee*) Neither of us could think of anything @ the house & figured we'd just walk up to the theater area since it's surrounded by restaurants. About to make our way to Taxi's when I see Sri Thai restaurant...""Babe let's have Thai food instead"", & in we go =) LOCATION: On the same section & in btw Taxi's & Starbucks. Plenty of parking in shared lot; depending on time of the day can determine how long u'll drive around to find parking tho. Store front looks small outside, but opens up when you enter. RESTAURANT: Spacious & clean w/ white table cloth dinning, & armless chairs. Restaurant can prob cater 40-50 people. There was a large party (like of 12) already dinning inside when we got in & few other folks. The place is welcoming for all people shapes & sizes really. CUST SVC: Upon entrance, flagged down from staff coming from the kitchen ""Party for 2?"" & got seated immediately. Friendly, patient, & prompt staff. TASTES: We got 2 Thai Teas that were greeeat! We did the ""family style order"" w/ plans to just share, so we got Yellow Chicken Curry (I love yellow curry), Spicy Beef, & Fried Rice. Entree plate sizes were common to other Thai restaurants...not large servings, more like medium size servings. Yellow Curry had cooked the chicken tender & curry was scrum-didly-umptous! Fried rice was just eh ok & pleasing. Spicy Beef...the seasoning was tasty, but we felt the beef was chewy if you will. FINAL TAB: So 3 entrees & 2 teas later, we end our dinner w/ a $40.45 tab & a lil' bit to take home. Of everything sampled, don't think I'd recommend the Spicy Beef, but everything else is great Pros: Good food, spacious restaurant, & quick service more

The US Army likes it! 7/19/2009

My husband and I are cooks and have our own web cooking show. So when we go to a restaurant we want to be impressed with dishes we have never had before. Sri-Thai Restaurant is one place we really liked having lunch at the other day. The soup was lightly sweet to taste. I had the scallops and shrimp, my husband had the shrimp. We were both very happy with our orders. The timing of the waiter was perfect, I can not complain. I go there for lunch when I am in town. It's worth the stop Pros: Just the right amount of heat Cons: Not near Gilroy more

Good food, mediocre service 9/24/2007

Yes, the service is poor, but you will hardly find good service at an Asian restaurant unless you go to fine dining. I am Asian, and it is just the truth. Yes, the portions are really small and the prices are increasing. But for yummy tom yum soup, red curry w/ prawns and the best eggplant chicken I have ever had, I go to Sri Thai. I would rather pay the price for the small portion with the mediocre service and have a satisfying Thai meal than drive elsewhere for good service and mediocre food. The Thai restaurants in Pleasanton/Dublin/San Ramon are few and far between, so I will stick with this place. Pros: You can have a satisfying Thai meal after/before a movie Cons: Service, small restaurant more

Worst customer service 6/30/2007

Me and my wife had with us our 2yr old child, who was restless and wouldn't sit on a high chair. She began to start crying. The restaurant manager walked to the child, visibly irritated, faked a smile and told her that she was disturbing other customers and asked her to leave showing the door. I wouldn't have expected the manager talk to a child that way. The mother could have been told to take the child out for a bit. Pros: The food was ok Cons: Bad customer service. The manager doesn't know how to talk to a child. more

Not so good Thai. 5/4/2007

The food used to be good a while back but now it hasn't been as good. There are some better Thai restaurants in the area. more

Gone downhill... 9/19/2006

I used to love this restaurant because the food is very good, especially for Dublin, but I've been disappointed the past few times, mostly because of the value. The portions are getting smaller and smaller and the prices are increasing ($4 for a side of cucumber salad, $8 for a lunch plate that had 4 SMALL strips of chicken). The service is friendly and the food is tasty, but I would now rather drive to Berkeley/Oakland or even SF for good Thai food at reasonable prices. No one likes to feel like they're being ripped off... Pros: Decent food for the area Cons: Value for your money more

User review by mufmar 3/18/2006

The service was terrible. We ordered drinks which arrived after our food had arrived by about 10 minutes. The waiter did not explain the specials and actually forgot to bring enough menus for our party of five. Also we had to wait to get take out containers although we were obviously finished dining. Pros: location Cons: poor service more

Sri-Thai - Thai food place in Dublin you say? 9/14/2005

Yes, I must admit that when a friend suggested dinner, Thai food, I expected a trip to Berkeley to enjoy good Thai food. I was pleasantly surprised to have been introduced to this great find in Dublin. The food was very good; not exceptionally good, but very good comparitive to any other Asian restaurants located in Dublin/Pleasanton (sorry, but this is the land of Applebe's, and Chili's). The Mango salad was delicious, the spring rolls were light and fresh, and my seafood clay pot was seasoned well and the mushrooms and other ingredients were only cooked until done, not overcooked as I have been served before when ordering clay pot dishes. Service and ambiance were acceptable. It's a small place, so don't expect too much privacy. Pros: Food, Value, A find in Dublin Cons: Small place, In a strip mall more

great thai food 12/2/2004

I've been to Sri-Thai a few times. The food is great for a restaurant in Pleasanton. I didn't expect great food since Pleasanton/Dublin is somewhat of a small town, but I was enlightened. The service is inconsistent. Sometimes I get pretty good service, and sometimes I don't. The food is pricey for asian food, being that I'm so used to eating it, but if you're in Pleasanton, debating on where to eat, it's good food, and a large serving of tom yum gai soup is like $ 10.00, and green coconut curry is like $ 8.00. Pros: convenient, good food more
