I have been disabled since I was 10 months old, and grew up in Chicago in a society that was not tolerant nor understanding of ""crippled"" people. Regardless, I went to college, worked for a major national hotel chain and later became one of their top food executives. I have never ever abused the fact that I am disabled - I am not, I am very able, I just happen to be physically challenged. I have been at the Squeeze Inn a few times, and I asked a customer to please get me a delicious burger and a soda, gave her my money, and I got my order faster than anybody else, delivered by a friendly employee. People made room for my electric scooter at the outdoor table, and had a grand time chit chatting with them.
