I can only tell you my story and you decide. My friends cat of 15 years was dying. It was his time to go, unfortunatly it was at a time that neither of us could afford the proper way to let him go. On top of the extreme sadness and distress of watching helplessly as his cat was suffering I knew to just get to my vets, Spruce Creek Animal Hospital. We carried Fuzz in his favorite blanket and went. I explained what situation we were in and poor Fuzz, after the girls came back from the back, they really didnt say to much, just led us back and asked us to please wait for the doctor. Dr. Trantham came in and explained that their first priority was the animals, of course funding to keep providing care is crucial, of course. He petted Fuzz, told us how beautiful he was and couldn't have been more caring, supportive and sincerely LOVING towards us three. He gave Fuzz his shot with gentle hands, stayed with us, then left us to our goodbyes privatetly. In our total time of need and desperation, my vets and staff took that awful time and saved us all. I will never ever forget the great act of kindness and love that was shown to us. We have been able to grieve without guilt. The Humane Society will help, not on an emergency basis, only appointment, which we were not afforded that with Fuzz, and they will take your pet from your arms and take them in the back then bring them back out to you and you can take them home, which by the way Spruce Creek gives you the choice for them to take care of it or let you bring them home. I understand that this does help alot of animals go in a humane way, but I was destroyed by the thought of not being there for your pet who desreves to have the comfort of our voice and our love at their final moment, to me this wasnt an option. So many many huge Thank you's to the whole staff at Spruce Creek. The three of us all rest in peace.
