How does Speed's have no reviews? This place serves up the best hot dogs in... anywhere. These gigantic dogs are first braised in apple cider and sugar, then finished on a charcoal grill. The toppings are all homemade, including relish, mustard, chili, bbq sauce and onions. One dog, with the works, will set you back $7, and it will fill you up. It's charred, smothered in toppings, and served on a huge roll. This is a unique meal, that you should go out of your way to try at least once.
To get there, you need to go down Mass Ave, turn left at Victoria Diner (into Newmarket Square), and drive around the wholesale food warehouses to find what looks like a reconditioned ice cream truck with smoke pouring out of it. Expect a line, and bring cash.
Pros: Cheap, Delicious, unique
Cons: out of the way, odd hours
