Our 1-month-old daughter began having seizures and when we called our pediatrician, they told us to immediately go to the ER. When we got there, the staff at Butterworth immediately began working on her to diagnose what the problem was.
Each member was helpful, calming and if they didn't know the answer, they didn't "pussy-foot" around. They helped us to get to the individual that knew answers.
Because she was so dehydrated, they were having a terrible time getting blood and even spinal fluid from her (her age was also a factor), so they quickly got a specialist from the neonatal department down to help with the situation. She was able to take care of the situation without having to have our baby poked and prodded for hours trying to get necessary fluids while time was ticking away.
We feel that the staff at Butterworth ER and the Neonatal and Pediatric Neurological units were so helpful and professional. They did not try to push the issue off as nothing. They listened to us and took what we knew of our history seriously. They also were careful to keep us updated of the status of everything as well.
Thanks to the quick staff at Butterworth ER, our daughter was able to be released that same night, after prescribing medicine that would help with her condition. WE are so thankful for them.
