So I went to another salon and was completely disgusted by the language and practices there... I am not a prude, but hearing about vulgar sex shouted across the floor was not my cup o' tea. As I was reading through the other reviews about this den of iniquity, I saw a name with rave reviews attached to it. "Robbert." I had just had my haircut, but had been toying with the idea of dying some of the grays away and thought... who is this Robbert. I saw one of the commenters say he was at Spa Uptown so I came to this citysearch and saw all the raves about him. Well, IT IS ALL TRUE!!! My hair has never ever looked so beautiful! He even reshaped the so-so cut I had just had. Now, I have to be honest, I was a little skeptical because- while Robbert is a VERY attractive man- he has a green mohawk. I was nervous for a moment until we began the consultation. He listened to every single word. He sat down with me- No rush and he was completely confident and at ease- which made me feel the same. He made me laugh- a lot! We talked hair, but we also talked about life and music and passion. He is an intensely deep and intelligent man. And the one thing that stuck out in my mind, was his demand to keep my hair in perfect health and condition despite the chemical service I was having. He also explained every inch of the cut/reshape and "why" he was doing what he was doing. I have never had anyone take that kind of time with me in a salon. Was it pricey? Yes, $160. Was it worth every last cent- HECK YES! Let me also add, the staff was amazing there as well. There was a gentlemen named, Jack, who made me laugh and laugh. The cute girl at the desk checked on me a couple of times- as Robbert had a cut while my dye was on. I did not get to meet the owner as she was not there, but Robbert spoke of her in the most high regard. I am so very pleased to have met Robbert and I don't just look at him as my hair stylist, after this experience, I call him a friend.
