Having landed here alone and knowing no one in the Baltimore area in February from San Francisco in the midst of blizzards that everyone said ""this never happens here"" to heat and humidity that I have never experienced before my salvation has been finding, bonding and seeing Kimberly and Amy at Spa in the Valley. \r
Having your hair cut and colored in San Francisco is the equivalent to having micro-surgery. Kimberly Slemaker has made it a relaxing, wonderful, and therapeutic experience. Kimberly is always on top of her game, to the point that I sit and don't even need to tell her what I want. She knows!!! And knows well, as she is ever up to date on the latest science of hair care with her continuing learning and mastering of the techniques that she travels globally to keep up to date on. That aside, she is an amazing person and will take you under her wing and next thing you know you are sisters. Only a ""sista"" would wake up at the crack of dawn to make sure your hair was done for a week of meetings (You are appreciated for that, Kimberly especially since it meant a Saturday). I am also grateful that Kimberly knows what to do with my unruly mass of hair, since I lack the ability to communicate what it is I want ... actually I don't know, but she does. \r

As for my nails ... Amy Anderson ... goddess of the art! How she puts up with me I will never know. I have no patience and cannot sit still, and have plagued her with taking me from the world of acrylic nails to natural. She is a saint to put up with me, finds the most amazing techniques, and has somehow figured out how to get me to sit still long enough to perform her magic. Sarah is part of the family as well, as her witty commentary is part of the process. \r
