I've been attending SA off-and-on for the past 6 months and have had no problems...until tonight. I was there to buy some sports cards. When the time came, I bid on the 4 boxes of cards being advertised and won. I noticed the assistant picked up 4 different boxes and took them to the back. I knew that there had been a mistake. I immediately went to the back to confirm I was receiving what I had seen and heard was being sold; it was not. Instead, it was 1 box of hockey action figures, 1 box of sport magazines and 2 boxes of cards (which were not the ones being displayed during the bidding). I voiced my objection to the guy who took the boxes to the back; he told me that I should pay attention to what was being sold and that I was welcome to sit in the front row. I explained that the boxes he had taken to the back were not the ones that were being auctioned during my bidding. He once again told me I could sit in the front to avoid confusion. \r

I went to the front and complained to the lady who was working behind the desk. She went back to the guy who I previously spoke to. He announced to the auctioneer that there was a guy (me) who didn't want to purchase the cards because I didn't get the cards I wanted. The auctioneer proceeded to try and belittle me, until I spoke up and told him that I didn't get the item he had sold. He blamed me for not paying attention; however, the opposite is true. That is why I complained in the first place; I was paying attention and called Southside Auction on an attempted bait-and-switch. \r

The item went back for auction.
