Nice Tourist Stop 9/28/2005

Everytime I have visitors from out of state they want to go to the Southfork Ranch. It is in Plano and is easy to get to. You get to walk around the grounds and some of the house. There is a museum that has a lot of stuff that was used on the show and there is a gift shop where you can get post cards and such. It is not really very expensive and most of my visitors have enjoyed it. It is a lot smaller than it appears on tv. more

Dallas 9/11/2005

Definitely a place you have to visit if you're not from Dallas. If you're from Dallas, and you haven't visited it yet, why haven't you? The home of the famous tv show Dallas, this is a fun place to visit. I have also visited Southfork ranch for volunteer events and Southfork accommodates large events very well. One thing I didn't enjoy too much was the trough style urinals in the men's bathroom. I'm not a horse, I don't do troughs. Other than that, have fun! more

South Fork Ranch 9/9/2005

When my family heard we where living in Dallas they all said we must go visit south Fork Ranch. It is a great place to visit, they have a nice store that you can browse while waiting for the tour. The tour takes you round the grounds a bit and then on a walking tour inside the house. I found this a little dissapointing as it is not at all like the house in the TV series Dallas. Admittion prices are fairly reasonable and it is a fun place to take out of town visitors for a morning or afternoon. more

South Fork Ranch 8/21/2005

The only thing Plano is known for throughout America is South Fork Ranch. South Fork Ranch was the filming location for the television series Dallas. South Fork holds little for me because I am a younger generation. I do not understand why Dallas the series is so well loved or care who shot JR. However, for fans of the series who want to get an inside glimpse should definitely take a tour of South Fork more

SF ranch 7/31/2005

A must see when visiting Allen/ Plano area. Come see where the famous series "Dallas" was filmed at. Take a tour inside the house (they never filmed inside only outside). Take a tour through the "Dallas" museum filled with Dallas artifacts like Lucy's wedding dress when she married Mitch, the gun that shot J.R. and much more. You can even see Jocks's Lincoln sitting right in the middle of the gift store. You can take a trolley ride around the grounds and see the cattle. It once was the largest working horse ranch in Texas in the 80's. You can hold banquets and weddings here on the grounds. Stop by Ms. Ellie's Deli for a sandwich and some iced tea before you go home. Tours are around $7/adult. more
