I went to STPT in Vestal for a neck injury because a friend had a good experience there. He knew the owner. I did not. I've had physical therapy before and the treatment itself was fine. The staff ranged from borderline cold to completely unprofessional. I had one staff member ask me why I bothered to work at all since I qualified for disability. This was asked loudly and in the presence of other patients. When I asked how many treatments I would receive, more than one staff member told me, off the tops of their heads, ""X number. That's how many your insurance allows."" The plan seemed to be to max out my insurance without regard to how my injury was actually progressing. As soon as I stopped feeling pain, I stopped going. I do my exercises and I don't plan to ever go back.
