My husband's family had a reunion in Winter Haven. One evening we set sail on the Southern Breeze for a riverboat dinner cruise. It was a delightful evening. If I remember correctly, there were about 37 of us in our party. We were joined by another party of about 25. The boat had recently been refurbished and we were one of the first groups to set sail since the boat had been worked on. While not the most elegant ship I've ever been on, it was the only paddleboat I've ever been on and was quite comfortable. The meal was a buffet and we were allowed to make as many trips back as we wanted. There were three or four entrées offered, lots of side dishes, a small salad bar and dessert. Although not everyone in our party was happy, I thought the food was good and filling. The entertainment left a lot to be desired. It consisted of one person asking trivia questions or playing bits of music and asking a question. The winner received a free drink. We sailed around Lake Eloise and the scenery was gorgeous. The captain told us interesting facts at different points along the way. I had a great time and would gladly recommend the Southern Breeze Dinner Boat cruise to all.
