Southend offers the most terrific portabella mushroom sandwich I've ever had. Once our office's unofficial lunch spot, I ate this sandwich at least once every week. I have since tried similar sandwiches in other restaurants, but have yet to find any that compare. Their nachos are also to die for. more

Open mic 2/24/2006

Southend Brewery brews thei own beer, and offers upscale dining near glenwood south. Its very rare that you find a resturant that can not onle have great food in an elegant atmosphere, but also has fantastic beer. They have a mug night where people with mugs can get beer cheaper than usual, and they do an openmic which showcases some local talent you mayhave never encountered before. more

Better for private deals 1/24/2006

Southend is a lot like the flying saucer, with less beer (however they brew their own) and a lot more liquor and mixed drink options. They have a private room you could rent out although having never done it, I'm not particualrly sure what the price rate is for it. i wouldn imagine its something like the saucer. more
