Some of the nurses should find a different profession and should not be able to work with the public more

I would recommend that you go somewhere else. To sum everything up that I went through: They ignored me, left me in a room with no call button, didn't monitor me, ran unnecessary tests, kept me there due to ignorance which meant I had to stay overnight (and charged me for it), let me go through withdrawal from my medications for 3 1/2 hours before administering them, let me have a panic attack for 3 1/2 hours before administering my medications, their psychiatrist didn't even evaluate me (which was the point of me being there in the first place), and their psychiatrist tried to keep me there for the wrong reasons. They put my life in jeopardy by not administering my medications (which I need to survive; my medications for me are like insulin for a diabetic) and neglected my care. DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL. more

My Grandmother has been in this Hospital for a week. Not only has she only seen the same nurse twice in this last week, but every time the Hospitalist that was assigned to comes in the room every morning it's like we have to re-introduce him to her again. NOBODY communicates in the hospital. They tell us things and they never happen. My Grandmother was prescribed an inhaler and it sat on the nurses desk for two days while my Grandmother struggled to breath. This place is absolutely unbelievable and I wouldn't ever go here if it was the last place on earth to go and it's really that AWFUL!!!! We are having my Grandmother transferred as I right this to Florida Hospital. more

i agree with everything that has been said below. after having procedures done they say a doctor will be around to speak with you and 1 never shows up. you never get your scheduled meds on time, and i agree with sly09, if you have no insurance you are treated poorly. almost forgotten about. most of the nurses were great more

One of the worst emergency rooms ever, Sat for 30 minutes in waiting room..(Only one in there) while the Nurse sat in a room across from the desk laughing and talking. She had told me to have a seat and she would be with me shortly. I will file a complaint. more

Caring staff but poor Communication 3/24/2011

My relative was admitted to this hospital as a result of an accident. A floor physician (GP) was assigned and made daily visits but another physician was assigned to perform the surgery (non-emergency). No one seemed to be driving the train as far as the course of treatment. No doctor ever showed x-rays or was available to discuss treatment options, risks, etc. until 5 minutes before being wheeled into the operating room. The nurses and other staff were caring and tried their best to help but it's not the same as having a doctor who can answer questions. We got 90% of our information regarding the procedure from the internet on our own. No one ever told us what to expect post-surgery and no one was available after discharge to provide any follow-up, pain medication refill, etc. Also, each time there was a shift change it was a ""whole new day"" having to explain what was going on to the newly arriving staff (evidently they don't read or keep notes). more

My son arrived on my door step this morning crying and pleading for help with his crack addiction. He informed me that he tried to end his life the night before. I brought him to South Seminole Hospital. They were very attentive until they found out that my son had no insurance. At that point, he was treated like a second class patient. He sat in the E.R. for almost 9 hours before the hospital located him a bed at Lakeside Behavioral Center (hospital). I am sure the wait would of been longer if I didn't become persistent with the nurses, doctors, etc... I then discovered from a staff member that South Seminole had an open bed for my son. When I pressed the issue of why my son had to be transferred to Lakeside it became obvious, inbetween the lines, that South Seminole Hospital only caters to people that have medical insurance. Pros: New E.R. Cons: Medical Services more
